down a florida, beryl is now a tropical storm -- down in florida. even ocean city should worry about rip currents as beryl heads off the coasts. we expect temperatures to be pretty steamy. near 90 degrees in central maryland. i cannot rule out a thunderstorm isolated today. it will be a dry day as we deal with the heat and humidity. stay tuned for all the details. >> police are searching for a pair suspects who broke into a dundalk home and shot two people inside.

>> nadia ramdass joins us live with more. what is the latest? >> police do not have too much information on the suspects other than a confrontation took place. this happened on sunday morning in a home in dundalk. there's still a lot of unanswered questions at the time. both victims are still recovering in hospital. police say a man has critical injuries after he was shot while a woman was stabbed. her injuries are not life- threatening. police suspect the intruders entered by the back of the home. people lived nearby say situations like this are rare in this neighborhood. >> my sister lives on this street. it is unfortunate. you do have to watch here and there. the kids love to come out and play and have a good time. the never let love to get along.

it is tough when something like this happens. >> anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the baltimore county police department. reporting live, nadia ramdass, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. a man is dead woman recovers after a boyfriend reportedly held her and held captive. the incident happened late sunday at fenwick avenue. the suspect reportedly turned the gun on himself after a standoff. the woman is being treated at shock trauma. five people are recovering after being exposed to dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. this happened just before 9:30 sunday night. there is no word this morning on their condition. >> police continue to look for the three men who walked away

from a halfway house. these are the man on your screen. all three were serving sentences for drug distribution but managed to walk out the door. anybody with information should call police. no word holocaust and on what cv to go up in flames. firefighters made short work of the fire. nobody was heard. >> maryland natural resources police have more than their share of boating accidents and rescues. a boater went missing in the chesapeake bay after stopping for a swim. police say one man to jump off the boat and never really heare.

a boat struck a concrete je tty around 11:30 last night. a pennsylvania man and his son are lucky to be alive after their cell boat caught fire -- after their sailboat caught fire. the engine exploded. the pair was rescued by passing vessel. >> this weekend is about honoring our veterans. a group of veterans, their travels took them to glen burnie. >> they arrived by bus after visiting memorial's designed and created for them.

ranging in age from 85 to 101, this group of world war ii veterans traveled from bakersfield, california. >> bakersfield, california, with the sun shines but the love never dies. >> they had a complementary fees to. ast. >> this is a way for us to say thank you and to give back. >> the veterans were transported free of charge to visit the memorials. >> i give them a lot of credit, to travel all that distance to come around the east coast. they are not young fellows. they look pretty good. >> everybody has a story.

our normal is 77. we were at 68 yesterday morning. we're starting off in the upper 60's. we got a trace of rain at the inner harbor. maybe we could see more. a couple of raindrops as isolated showers already forecast. we will come back with the full forecast. >> holiday vacation plans have been ruined in the southeast thanks to a tropical storm beryl. beryl proved to be too strong fror many. the storm is expected to bring heavy rain. coastal flooding is forecast for the northeast and florida and southern south carolina. rescuers are trying to determine the cause of it home explosion

hours. there's not a lot of precipitation to talk about. some along the jersey coast and some west of d.c. we could see more as we move through the day. there is a boundary up to the north. this is basically stalled out. maybe a shower or thunderstorm. we do have high pressure sitting off the coast. that normally keeps us pretty quiet. it is very hazy, hot, and humid all across the east. high pressure down towards the gulf coast. a cold front is slicing across the plains. the cooler air is slowly trying to make its way east. that will cause our temperatures to drop out by the end of the week. 50's and 40's in parts of the

department. nadia ramdass, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. four men are facing criminal charges after selling drugs to undercover police officers. the salt synthetic marijuana and other drug paraphernalia to undercover detectives and then explained to them how to use the object to get high. hundreds of items and a computer were seized. a surprise for baltimore city police after pulling a man over. he had been the victim of gunfire. lanell ausby was found to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. he told police he had been shot several blocks away but he didn't know who shot him.

he died a few hours later. >> a driver who crashed into the back of a police car has been convicted of three traffic offenses. robert vanderford had three points put on his license and ordered to perform 250 hours of community service. an officer has undergone several surgeries and rehab. great news for anybody who drives through baltimore on the j.f.x. the emergency repair has been completed. all lanes are now open for drivers. >> president obama will join americans today in honoring the members of our military. ceremonies will begin with the laying of the rwreath.

ocean city appeared we're keeping our eyes on beryl. she has become a tropical system. more of a hybrid system. now it full-blown tropical storm. she will be heading up the coast. no direct impact to ocean city and she finally moves offshore on thursday morning. rip currents will be a concern in ocean city all the way towards the end of the week. temperatures in the mid 80's for the next couple days. back into the 70's by the end of the week with another rain chance on friday. >> a homecoming for military personnel serving overseas. >> a unique surprise for one soldier which is added new meaning for her at memorial day. >> today is the day.
