it has been a very, very busy weekend on the water for emergency responders. >> and in a separate voting incident, they have called off the search for a 21-year-old of edgewood. david collins is keeping an eye on both of those. he joins us from shock trauma. >> some passengers from that boat crash are now listed in stable condition here at shock trauma. a boehner whose body was recovered near the crash scene, if he had been wearing a jacket, things may have come out differently, although an autopsy may determine the cause of death. sadly, the search and rescue mission turned into a recovery operation. the police and other units all teamed up. the charles county group found david some 12 hours after he was reported missing. >> they went out there and

located him. >> he fell into the water after the boat he was traveling in with three others struck a concrete jedi. -- jetty. some were medevaced to shock trauma and are listed in stable condition. they helped charles county find the body. >> 10 years ago, we would died and died and died. now, we can narrow it down. we have had recoveries. we have a huge help to technology. >> they believe this could have been prevented had the victim been wearing a light jacket. drowning is the cause of 75 to 80% of boating accidents. they say many died last year alone.

they were wearing a light jacket, on the water, it could save your life. and we spotted more boaters without a device than those that were wearing them. >> everyone is out here to have a good time. >> new and highly recommend them? >> definitely. if you are out there on a jet ski, you definitely want to have one on. you deadly one-two have one on. you never know what can happen. >> again, authorities say an autopsy will determine the exact cause of death. authorities documented several boating accidents and all of last year, which includes 156 injuries and several deaths. reporting live from shock trauma, wbal tv 11 news. >> david, thank you. and heat advisory issued by the weather service will last until later tonight.

we have more on how they are dealing with the heat. >> it is around 79 degrees. if you combine the humidity with temperatures close to 90 degrees, it feels more like 100 degrees down at the inner harbor. our only saving grace is that there is a nice breeze blowing off of the water. still, it has not stopped people from coming to the inner harbor or taking place in the memorial day activities. >> keeping " with some cool tunes over at the park. >> they are just telling you to find a cool spot. if you are on your porch in the sun, then get out of the sun. >> despite a heat advisory, the expected heat index values in the 90's, folks were still out in full force, but the shade was

high pressure system is out, this should get your tomorrow night into wednesday morning, and that is what we can finally expect some heat relief. more coming up in a few minutes. >> we will see you in a minute. police are searching for some suspects they say broke into in dundalk come -- home. police believe that the intruders entered through the back of a home and that there was a confrontation. they say these are very rare. meanwhile, police say a 22-year- old was struck and killed by a drunk driver in ocean city. it happened early this morning as macki was trying to cross the highway near 54th street. investigators say the driver had been speeding and did not stop after hitting him with the suv, and tonight, he is charged with

one woman tried to get her son anthony to wear his hearing aid. her son told her that "super heroes don't wear blue ears." >> there are all of these super heroes, and i thought there was one that was hearing impaired, and i did not find one. i found an email, and i thought i would give it a shot. >> and that shot was something they listened to. the new super hero is "blue ear," and his blue hearing it allows him to hear an ant hickup on the other side of the country. >> the youngest contestant ever to compete in the national spelling bee. >> [spelling word] >> correct. >> keep in mind, she is 60 years old, winning the regional in prince william county. -- she is 6 years old. she will be at the national event at the national harbor in prince george's county. >> now, your 11 insta-weather plus forecast with chief meteorologist tom tasselmyer. >> warm and humid. you would expect to see a few thunderstorms on hd doppler. a minimal chance one will pop up. a hot, humid afternoon. some moisture in the atmosphere. you can see this pop up in some areas. we're going to have to wait another day for a cool front to get closer and start bringing us a thunderstorm chance. there is hot temperatures in the high temperature column.

93 at bwi-marshall. since that is our official weather station for this region, we fall just short of that record high 97, which goes back to 1941. you go from almost 100 on the record highs to almost freezing for the record lows. we are on the warm side. 95 downtown, 86 in hancock, 70's in oakland and frostburg because of some storms that have popped up. there is a heat advisory around the area. this makes it feel like it was almost 100. an area of high pressure. an affront to the west of chicago sweeping down through kansas city. behind it, slowly but surely, temperatures will get back closer to normal. this is weakening over south georgia. a pretty decent storm with soaking rains.

it looks like we will miss out on it, because this will trigger thunderstorms from new england to western maryland tomorrow. some of them could be strong to severe. this will also help to keep the tropical storm away from us. it will move into wilmington, north carolina, in the next day or so, but then the front is moving off of the closed. this is a tropical depression. here, partly cloudy, afternoon storms becoming more likely. a high of 87 to 92. showers and storms are more likely as it moves through. one to two feet of waves. if you are going to be on the bay tomorrow, watch for a thunderstorm approaching. a lingering shower with cooler air on wednesday. the eastern shore, afternoon/evening thunderstorms, and a lingering thunderstorm wednesday before the coroner comes in for thursday and friday.
