tv.com. police are looking for the suspects involved in a drive-by shooting. >> it happened early memorial day morning at a motel. kai reed is at the headquarters with the story. >> the victim is in critical condition tonight and residents in the community are dealing with their second case of violence in less than a year during >> i woke up hearing sounds like firecrackers. i heard a pop, pop, pop, and i am like, what is that? >> they woke up startled to the sound of gunshots and a man screaming for his life. >> when the paramedics got here, he was saying nine -- he did not want to die. >> according to police, the victim was walking near the inn when a car pulled up next to

description of the suspects and they are not releasing a description of the vehicle. anyone with information should call police. >> a quadruple shooting put four people on the hospital, including a child. bullets started flying last night. investigators say the boy was a passenger in the car. police say he was shot in the leg. to bang other males were also taken to the hospital and another walked into a hospital for treatment. no one had life-threatening injuries. residents say the gunfire was intense. >> they were so loud it made me think they were coming in front of my door. me and my family, we had to get on the floor. >> officers were gathering evidence at the scene.

no word on a possible motive. police are also investigating a shooting in west baltimore where a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound around lunchtime. he was taken to shock trauma where he is in critical condition. police the victim may have been targeted. the latest violence, says officials are touting a lower crime rate. according to the guns that initiative, 2011 had the lowest number of homicides in three decades. the lee also point to an 18% decrease in -- they also point to an 18% decrease and homicides. >> baltimore police are investigating the death of an infant. she was shaken so violently she suffered brain damage. the person charged is a father, demante palmer. he faces attempted murder and

i am proud of him. >> today's ceremony was also an historic one as the academy graduated its first paraplegic. he was paralyzed in a bicycle the incident in 2011. celebrations were also taking place on loyola for the first n.c.a.a. championship in men's lacrosse. the team received a hero's welcome from a crowd as they arrived back on home turf. they credit their success to their supporters. >> they deserve a lot of credit because they have been with us all of these years and they packed the house here. did they give us a lot of support. that gives us motivation. >> it gives me goose bumps, along with some many of our alumni. they were able to do something we were all striving for. >> what makes this even sweeter, they were ranked 21st at the start of the season.

thunderstorms or the eastern shore. that is what we were dealing with and now those downpours are moving across the eastern shore in down to cambridge and caroline county and about to move toward sols. as well. as we mentioned, there is one of last line of showers out of pennsylvania toward western maryland. that will break the heat wave and it is still a little ways off. even the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm. so far, precipitation totals are a lot lighter at the airport and we have had. just about a 10th of an inch at the airport. a quarter inch at the inner harbor and temperatures are soaring. 90's today. but it is going to get cooler. off to the north and west of a, we are already seen that cooling

trend. as the front moves off the coast and the wind shifts, we will hang onto some cloudiness in the morning. temperatures will start to back down a little bit. 65 and the morning, the possibility of an isolated shower. the cold front will slip off the coast tomorrow followed by a secondary and the cooler air behind that will settle into the northeast and thursday should feel different. what was once a tropical storm is now repression moving out toward south carolina. it is already starting to turn and the forecast takes it off the mid-atlantic coast and at to see on thursday. it is minimal as far as wind speeds: across the outer banks, by thursday a should be gone. it may brush those in ocean city

with a couple of showers. you see the storm system that then they get kicked out to sea and high pressure builds anin. it looks like clouds are increasing on friday and some rain arriving friday night. partly cloudy tomorrow. that is warmer than normal but is not the 90's. winds at 6-12. and isolated showers thunderstorm but waves generally around the foot. this heat wave is heating things up. 81 degree water temperature. nice and comfortable on the mountains the next couple of days. one last line of showers tomorrow and then sunshine for thursday and at the coast a couple of showers and maybe even one of the outer bands moving off the coast and a lot of sunshine returns to the beach for thursday. the seven day forecast, more comfortable on thursday, 75 on

the court files does not begin for another month which makes it odd they were honor the winner today. it presented him with the yellow winners jersey today for 2010. he finished second in the tour de france. he is finished second twice. winning would probably feel better at the end of the race than at the end of a two-year wait. he gets another shot at the end of june.
