we're back now with more of "today" on wednesday morning, 30th day of may, 2012. and starting to threaten a little bit here that it might rain in the next couple of minutes. but that's okay. we've got nicer weather on the way for later on in the week. cooler temperatures as well. and that rain will break the humidity that we've been experiencing. i'm matt lauer along with ann curry and al roker. i just did al's job for him. coming up, we're talking about how one blogger created a bit of a stir with a version of beach beauty that a lot of people have not considered in the past. >> posted a picture of herself on the internet in a two piece bathing suit.

she has the headlines. >> good morning, everyone. republican mitt romney said he is honored and humbled now that he won enough delegates to secure the nomination for president. a big win in texas on tuesday gave him more than enough delegates to lock up the nomination. he appeared at a fundraise we are donald trump which raised questions about mr. president obama's birth certificate is authentic for his part romney said he believes the president was born in the united states. it is day eight for jurors deliberating the fate of former presidential candidate john edwards. on tuesday, the judge in the edwards case admonished jurors to refocus their attention on deliberations and not talk in small groups outside the jury room. edwards is facing six charges for allegedly using donations to help hide his pregnant mistress during the 2008 campaign. for facebook, a new low tuesday on wall street. it slid below $29 a share down from $38 when it first went on the market. no comment about that from founder and ceo mark zuckerberg

>> and that's your latest weather. tamron? >> al, thank you. beach season and bikinis often intimidate women self conscious about body image. wearing a bikini can be considered daring. should that be the case? one 25-year-old plus size fashion blogger says, no. and her bikini body image has gone viral. she posted a picture of herself in a bikini on vacation and was amazed by the outpouring of positive feedback. her blog has encouraged other full figured women to post their photos for what she calls fat girls in bikinis. it is featured online. the response is overwhelming. both positive and some negative people out there. gabby greg is here we me. good morning. >> you're way too covered up. >> i know. i was getting dressed. i don't think you should wear this today. >> you look good in those pictures. >> thank you so much. >> what were you hoping to accomplish. i understand this is your second time posting?

>> yes, this is my second time posting in bikini. this time i really wanted to do it again and make it even bigger. i pitched the idea to have a gallery of all plus sized women wearing bikinis. >> you call it fatkini gallery. 31 full figured girls in swimwear. >> i think it's about empowering women. so often the media all we see is thin women in bikinis. i want to challenge that and say they're not the only ones, not that i have anything against them. i think all women are beautiful. i think we should see all types of bodies in swimwear. >> were you surprised by how many other women want the to show what they were working with on your site? >> yes and no. luckily i'm in a community online. so many of them have been posting themselves in bikinis. i wanted to gather them together and have it published in one place so people all over the world can see it. >> where do you get the confidence? i just told you, i'm not showing any of my body in a bikini. where did you get this confidence?

>> i don't really know. i have a really supportive family and supportive network of friends. i was a little self conscious in high school. once i got past college, i grew into my own. i love my body. we should reject the fashion rules about what we are and what we are not allowed to wear. >> beyond the fashion rules, as mentioned, you have some people throughout who have been critical saying that promoting obesity. >> i'm not promoting obesity or a healthy lifestyle. >> i think people should be aware of what they're putting in their bodies and be more active. the truth is be happy with your bodies we have right now. it is the goal to lose weight or are you happy where you are? >> we have those who will say it's a part of how healthy you

contributions and you may get at the earnings. it will save you tons of taxes in the future. go becca. >> all right. thank you so much. >> we're going to head to the phones. we have james calling in from michigan. what's your question? >> good morning. thank you tore taking my question. my question is for jean. my brother-in-law is trying to sell his home on a short sale. is the difference between what he owes and what the bank accepts considered taxable income? >> we're going to let sharon pick this one up. >> you're in a situation that many people are in right now which is owing more on your house than what you can really sell it for. and so that difference, that income that you get if your loan is forgiven by the lender is actually going to have to be reported on the federal tax returns. now the good news is until december 31st, it is generally federal tax free. so you will not have to pay

federal income taxes on that until december 31st. after that, it will change. then you have to pay the ordinary income tax rate on that money that is forgiven. say you're short bied 50y by $ that, is going to be a $12,500 tax hit. you want to get this done by december 31st. so your brother-in-law needs to hurry up. >> didn't they sign a law that is going to change the amount of time it takes for the short sale? >> one of the things you need to do is know the laws are constantly changing with the -- and also could change by the end of the year. so you're always going to have to check on the federal taxes and also consider what the state's tax penalty may be. >> guys, thanks so much. now let's go to an e-mail. this is from an anonymous viewer. we're having problems with mortgage companies accepting my applications. since the property is under her name, mortgage companies are not approving a mortgage for a new

home. how do we go about taking her name off the property and adding her ex-boyfriend on instead? wow. >> wow. >> this is such a sticky situation. honestly, a great example and why it's never a good idea to take on a liability on someone else's bee half. this is her ex-boyfriend. he could some day not want to pay this mortgage and she's stuck with the bill. you can't just change names on mortgages. if she wants to cut the mortgage, you have to sell the house and pay off the mortgage. simple as that. and i think a good wakeup call for the couples to get rid of this house. i think that, you know, as we said this could be a liability for them. he is not legally obligated to pay off this mortgage. that said, if he can produce 12 months of canceled checks showing he paid the mortgage and he's on the title which shows partial ownership, then she could present that to a lender and the lender could at the least not include that mortgage on her debt to income ratio the lending application. but the mortgage is still hers.
