economic recovery is stalling. a source in federal law enforcement says it appears unlikely that the government will retry former presidential candidate john edwards on campaign fraud charges. the jury acquitted edwards thursday on one count of accepting illegal campaign contributions but dead locked on five other counts and the judge declared a mistrial. justin bieber continues running into problems with glass. the pop star tells tchlz mz he into a wall of glass and knocked himself out during a promotional tour thursday in paris. he has also whacked his head on a revolving glass door in the past. madonna is back on tour for the first time in three years and fans are blogging that she hasn't lost a step. the material girl kicked off her new mdna world tour last night in israel. fans say the concert was unbelievable. 15 couples from china tied the knot thursday during a mass wedding at a fairy tale castle in southern germany. the bavarian castle is one of the most popular in europe

largely because of its beauty. and the marathon man of tennis, you can call him that again. american john isner gave it his all on thursday at the french open but it wasn't enough to defeat paul mattu of france in a nearly six-hour match. the 76-game saga set a french open saga for the most games played two years ago at wimbledon. isner won the longest pro match ever at just over 11 hours. and a full dress rehearsal for queen elizabeth's diamond jubilee procession took place just after dawn today in london. the rehearsal was a chance to see what will happen in central london next tuesday afternoon. the full state procession will feature about 2,000 members of the armed forces. matt and meredith will cover that as well. a 7-year-old boy was a real show stopper at a school talent show in oklahoma. he put on his best suit, his best glove, then danced, dazzled the crowd, dancing to michael jackson's "smooth criminal" and some of his amazed family

lit turn more humid with the high temperature near 81. that's your latest weather. savannah? >> thanks. it has been nearly a year since 20-year-old indiana university student loren speier disappeared. she was last seen june 3rd, 2011, after a night out with some friends. on thursday the bloomington police department said it has investigated more than 2500 tips and this is still an active case. rob and charlene speier are loren's parents and rebecca is her older sister. good morning to all of you. good to see you. >> good morning. >> thank you for being here. >> thanks for having us. >> hard to imagine that a year has passed and no word on what happened to loren. i guess the first question is, charlene, i'll start with you,

how are you guys doing? how is the family holding up? >> well, i think we're, you know, committed and we're driven and, you know, we just go through every day thinking about what we can do to make a difference and what we can do to try to get closer to finding loren. >> rebecca, this is one of the first times you've spoken out. i can only imagine it's very heart wrenching. what made you want to talk about this now? >> well, we've been dealing with it together every day and the year is upon us. we could have never imagined still a year later not having the answers that we so desperately want. but every day we're just trying to stay together and we're leaning on each other and just doing the best we can. >> rob, for those who aren't as familiar with what happened here, just remind everybody what we do know about the case.

loren was out, she was a college student. she was out at a bar until about 3:00. then what do we know about what happened? >> there's been a lot published about the events of the evening. what we do know is that loren was with some people. she was out at a bar, was drinking at the bar, left, and went back to her apartment. for some reason never made it to her apartment. and ended up going back to someone else's apartment. she was reportedly last seen leaving an apartment on 11th street in bloomington, indiana. so what we do know is that the people that were with her that night really did nothing to help her. and that's, you know, part of the tragedy here is that we believe that the events would have been completely different had somebody reached out, called

for help, taken her to a hospital, taken some kind of action. >> and at a minimum you feel her friends let her down. here she had been drinking and was in no position to be walking home alone. is that how you feel, charlene? >> exactly. i mean, i think that we're aware of the fact that loren was not in great shape and the idea that loren was on the floor of her apartment building and steps away from her apartment and she could have been taken home and was not is unconscionable. >> do you feel that those around her have been forthcoming and helpful to police in their investigation? >> well, look at it this way. the -- in the days after -- immediately after loren's disappearance, the people that were with her or had some knowledge about the events of the evening did speak to police but, yet, shortly thereafter everyone lawyered up.

the lines of communication became either nonexistent or severely limited and to this day many of those people, most of those people have not taken police polygraphs, which is what we've asked for from the beginning, given the fact that we don't know exactly what happened to loren. having information from people helps us narrow down the possibilities. >> and the police have said that this is a, quote, very active investigation. have they given you any hint, charlene, about what they're working on, where they think the leads are going? >> we are in constant communication with the bloomington police department but they do not share any of the specific investigative information which they have. >> i want to ask you a question that to be honest is hard to ask. do you have hope that she still could be found alive? >> you know, you always have

hope but after a year i don't think it's likely. >> you have to be realistic. as parents, you know, you just think about yourself. you have children or you have a loved one. if they were to just disappear and be out of your life, it's 'n extremely, indescribable position to be in. you always have that small element of hope but as time goes by of course you become more and more realistic about the possibility of her being alive and, of course, that would take a certain set of circumstances to have happened that night, so we just don't know. >> i know you do want answers and you certainly deserve those. thank you for coming here and sharing your story and helping us keep focused on her case. >> thank you. >> we appreciate it. >> there is something i can say. you know, there was a segment on preceding us about teenagers and

communicating. it's critical. i can tell you that in our case either charlene or i spoke to loren every single day. we had the communication. but there is just so much that you can do. hopefully the kids make the right choices. i think it's clear that in this country under age drinking is rampant. it goes to the high school level. it goes to the college level. you go to any of these college towns and you will find under age drinking going on in these bars, including kill roys where loren was the night that she disappeared. so it's a big problem in this country and i think if other states like indiana pass this life line law which allows people who are with someone who needs help to contact police, take them to a hospital, and not to be subject to prosecution, those are the kinds of things that we need to do in addition

from water cooler gossip to what is trending on social media we all want to be in the know. what is the hottest headline? alice, good to see you. >> great to see you guys. >> trending hash tags. the result of a typo. >> yes. and you know the internet has a wild and wonderful place but it is a place of scrutiny. mitt romney was developing a photo sharing and misspelled, or one of his app designers misspelled the word america and spelled it amercia. this led to a hash tag that pinged around the internet with great lightning speed.

it is of course not mitt romney's fault. but it is a funny joke and indeed gives rise to a lot of jokes about mitt romney being president of tay united states. it could happen to any of us. >> what did colbert have? >> i believe something about mitt romney, 2102. a great campaign for president. stephen colbert always has the best. >> yes. >> moving on to what's hot on the web as well, there is a new site called politi whoops, all those tweets or whatever that have been deleted live on forever. >> every politician's nightmare. basically politwoops brings up deleted tweets from the state level to the presidential level. both mitt romney and barack obama have deleted tweets. this is my greatest nightmare. i just deleted a tweet because i spelled the word unemployed incorrectly. some are just bad links but some are questionable tweets that

shouldn't have been retweeted from a political account. >> a good resource. twitter we know makes for strange bed fellows sometimes. tell us about the interaction between two unlikely folks on twitter this week. >> this is really the equivalent, i think this is the internet analog of henry kissinger inviting kanye west over for lunch. basically what happened is drake, who is a hip hop r & b sensation tweeted out the first million is the hardest to make. t. boone pickens, a very wealthy businessman retweeted and said actually the first billion is a lot harder. this led to a little back and forth. the internet is a place where a wind energy proponent multi-millionaire megabucks guy like t. boone pickens is somehow following drake which is again -- >> i love that. t. boone pickens. that's huge. who knew? >> he leaves no stone untouched. >> i wish slim pickens were still here. and then everyone is waiting for the release of the new iphone.

it appears some pictures got leaked yes. anything related to apple creates a sensation and a frenzy. these are we must say unconfirmed photos of the iphone 5 but of course they set off a frenzy online. it is from 9:00 to 5:00 back and it shows the back and the front of what may be the iphone 5 which has a much bigger metallic back. there are other features i think, a new ear phone dock, a smaller dock for plugging it in. it looks to be thinner. >> more rubber and chrome. >> exactly. it is the blade run version of the iphone 4. >> using liquid metal? >> you'll have to ask them about that. no doubt it has set off a lot of speculation about what the other features may be. can it cook me dinner? >> it doesn't love you back. that's next. really quickly another one causing web traffic apparently elvis's grave up for auction. we reported this. >> wow. >> the bidding starts at a

>> good morning. >> good to have you here. what was the idea behind this? we all say oh, the wedding dress. why the wedding dress as the goal for these women? >> we liked the symbolism of the wedding dress because really your wedding is for many women the last time that you put your health and your well being first. it's when you said, you know, i'm going to spend a few months just really focusing on myself. so we really loved bringing in the symbolism of the dress to say make yourself a priority, make your health a priority. >> such a good message. let's look at some of the women. i believe there were 12 women. let's start off with 42-year-old lisa barksdale a mother of two daughters and take a look at her picture before the challenge. this was her there. couldn't get into that wedding dress. and let's bring lisa on out now. come on out you lovely thing. look at you in that wedding dress. >> gorgeous. >> you look absolutely gorgeous. it fits perfectly. just right. how much did you lose? >> about 38 pounds. >> how did you do it? >> a lot of exercise, watching
