>> after months of tawdry charges and accusations against him, jerry sandusky gets to face his accusers in court. first up for the prosection, victim number four, who claims sandusky molested him more than 50 times as a minor and providing cash, gold clubs, and -- golf clubs, and shoes to maintain his silence. >> i think right now he is extremely anxious in the sense that he wants to put this terrible chapter of his life behind him. but emotionally, it's extremely difficult. >> the defense will likely question the credibility of the accusers, painting them as conspirators looking to profit through civil suits against sandusky. >> at least one of the accusers -- that's all the accuser and his family are talking about. what their going to do with all the money they're going to get. >> convincing a jury that all of the accusers are lying will be a tough task. if he is convicted of a few accounts, he will likely spend the rest of his life in prison. >> there are strength in numbers. these other eight are going to say the same thing over and over, the same pattern of what

bealefeld announced he is stepping down. kim dacey is live with the latest. kim? >> commissioner fred bealefeld announced that he would step down on august 1 and spend more time with his family after five years on the job. during his tenure, there's been a decline in city gun violence and an 18% drop in homicides over the past two years. the mayor has assembled a 10- person advisory panel which consists of law enforcement, legal, and executive experts in the search for a new top cop. this panel will be responsible for conducting interviews for both internal and external applicants, and then eventually recommend their finalist to the mayor for consideration. the city also hired an outside firm to field those candidates. city residents have plenty of advice on what the mayor's team needs to look for when finding the city's next top cop. >> i'd probably look outside of the city, somebody that is not from here, somebody who has a different take and experience. >> just make sure he actually knows the areas he's going to be working in.

>> a spokesperson recently told 11 news that bealefeld himself will participate in the national search for his own replacement. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. police continue to search for the person who shot a man in northwest baltimore. the victim walk into sinai hospital telling doctors he had been shot. he is now cooperating with police. an arrest in southwest baltimore gets out of control and winds up with police shooting and killing a family dog. there were taking a drug suspect into custody on sunday when the suspect ran out of the door. an officer shot and killed the animal. no one else was hurt. searching the bushes in

parkville for a python. somebody said they saw the snake on the road on taylor avenue. when officers arrived, it was gone. it was captured in a nearby bush. nobody was injured. >> a woman is behind bars, accused of kidnapping a 10-year- olmonth-old boy. no word on who might have shot and killed a teenager this weekend. a car pulled up and a gunman jumped out and shot the teenager several times. the victim was taken to the hospital where he later died. anyone with information should
