jail. he was sentenced but it was his comments that may have cost him. jayne miller broke the story originally. she joins us live with the latest on the sentencing. >> many defendants apologize for their crime. not this one. julia's hands and ran out on the prosecution, calling it a witch hunt. he was responding to what state prosecutors said, who wanted hensen treated more harshly than his co-defendant. prosecutors say he was a danger to the integrity of the political process. the defendant's lawyer wanted probation before judgment, calling this a minor crime, but the judge said he did not get the magnitude of the crime against him and sentenced him to one year in jail, suspended all -- all but 60 days, and that

means he is in jail at this hour. he was handcuffed in the courtroom. prosecutors wanted to send a message and they got that. >> it is not just the actual charge itself, but the court should and consider the circumstances. this is not a situation where somebody did not want to pay for something. the court consider the circumstances under which it happened. >> this is the robo-call that was sent to more than 100,000 democratic voters in baltimore city and prince george's county in the november, 2010 election suggested the gubernatorial race between martin o'malley and bob ehrlich was over before the polls have actually closed. what he was convicted of was a conspiracy count for failing to include on the robo-call an authority line.

to recap, his lawyer wanted probation before judgment. he got 60 days in jail, and cut in the courtroom and is on his way to federal booking. -- handcuffed in the courtroom and is on its way to federal booking. >> prosecution continues building its case against former assistant football coach for penn state jerry sandusky. we have the story from pennsylvania. >> wednesday morning, a third accuser testified. the 25-year old is known as victim number 10. he told the story much the same as the victims before him, saying he met the coach as a participant in a program for at- risk children and they started spending time alone, and that turned into sex acts ultimately. the accuser told jurors he did

not want to testify, but it was the right thing to do. this was after the star witness told jurors he saw him in a locker room shower with young boy. he is the only independent witness in the trial who claims to a scene -- to have seen jerry sandusky object -- assaulting a child. that is the story from pennsylvania. >> baltimore county police are investigating a homicide today after a man's body is found in a car. detectives were called off of the circle when they found the 2020 -- 20- -- 22-year-old. yet been shot several times. there is no word on a suspect or modem -- or motive.

commissioned by brazil's navy to show their nautical pride all over the world. they get invited to nautical events like sailabration, and a lot of people on this crew left brazil in march. they just left new york and made their way to norfolk, and that is where we met up with them. it has been a lot of fun. it has been absolutely beautiful. 4 give me if the wind is blowing really hard right now. it is when the outside world. we are with the sailors from the brazilian navy. they are very hospitable. we have quite a few demands for videos and so forth, and they have been accommodating.

woman has died. crews are now facing another problem. they could soon run out of water. they are under tight water-use restrictions in new mexico and it is the largest fire in state history. take a look it is frightening video where a toddler is thrown from a truck in a high-speed chase. police say the four teenagers had robbed a woman and were trying to escape officers when the driver lost control of the vehicle. the toddler suffered only minor injuries. los angeles city council will hold a vote to strengthen the foreclosure residency ordinance after a group of sanitation workers and delivered bags of trash to the headquarters of the bank of new york mellon. workers say the bank is ignoring the city ordinance requiring foreclosed properties to be kept clean. the protesters were met with

picture. the ships are entering inner harbor for the sailabration celebration. what a beautiful shot that is. magnificent ships. he might be spending more on your dry cleaning bill this month as they deal with a tax on hangers. the u.s. commerce department has announced an anti-dumping tarrifff on hangers. many say they are raising prices at economists say using biodegradable cardboard hangers like these could cut down on costs, but so far not many are using them. giant and martin food stores are recalling a popular ice cream, as peanuts were not disclosed. no problems have been reported so far.
