you're looking at a live picture of pairs shooters who are getting ready to jump to patterson park -- perish shooter's who are getting ready to jump into patterson park. ships are still making their way into the inner harbor. this kicks off a week of activities. but first, our big story at 6:00 p.m., the sentencing of political consultant julius tenzin. he was handcuffed and thrown into jail for the role he played in the robo-calls case. >> he had gotten the book thrown at and after each chose not to apologize. jayne miller is live downtown at the courthouse. henson's codefendant, the campaign manager for bob ehrlich, was convicted of the more serious counts in this case, but he showed remorse and state jail time. hanson did not. julius hands and went straight

to jail after sentencing. the was convicted of a role in the robo-calls that went out in 2010, suggesting that martin o'malley had already won before the polls have closed. his lawyer asked for probation, not even -- for the judgment that was not even a conviction, arguing that it was merely a technical violation of election law. hanson himself criticized the judge and said this has not been fair. the whole prosecution from day one was a witch hunt. he downplayed the charges for which he was convicted. he made no apology and showed no remorse. >> people who stand up like men and women and look you in the eye and say what they have to say, they are prepared to face the consequences. if you do not believe that you were convicted according to the law, and if you believe you are innocent, why stand up there and say i'm sorry?

no, you do not do that. >> the judge told them, you are oblivious to the magnitude of the crime you have been convicted of. you do not accepted as a crime. his co-defendant was convicted on all counts of the robo-calls case, including fraud. he showed remorse at sentencing and got 30 days home detention. hansen was convicted of just one count, the least serious, but is the one going to jail. >> he made the implication that he would do it again and that is what the court was facing. that is where the court made a strong sense in this matter. >> his lawyer says he does plan to appeal. >> today is the last day of school in baltimore city and it could not be more timely for mayor stephanie rawlings-blake to announce the opening of the city curfew center on north avenue. it is located at the success academy and will be open on

car -- they had gotten a 911 call from someone reporting a man sleeping in a car. >> when they arrived, they found the man was not sleeping, but instead had been shot multiple times the torso. paramedics declared in debt at the scene. >> they're not sure what the victim was doing there, or if he was shot there were killed in another location and then driven there. >> he was in his own car and the motor was still running. there was blood visible in the car. but police declined to say whether he was in the driver's seat, but said it he had not been dead long when police were called. people in the complex were stunned to learn what happened. >> it is scary, but we have never had police around here like that. >> we have never had any problems or murder of any issues like that before. maybe they just use this because it was close to the highway or something.

you can watch more than 40 tall ships and naval war vessels as they navigate through the inner harbor. it begins at 7:00 p.m. right here on wbal tv 11. >> great whether to kick off the first day. a storm is offshore. a few scattered clouds. not much rain around here, but there's a lot over the atlantic. the storm will continue tomorrow and may give us some more clouds. let's see what happened during the day today. haiti was by the airport. inner harbor, 83. -- 80 was the high at the airport. in a harbor, 83. the orange shadings show the temperatures run around 70, mostly at the city and near the

water's of the day and a harbor. outlying areas, more in the mid 70's. that is the yellow shades. here is the offshore a weather system. some beautiful high clouds overhead. the clouds are low over the water. high over michigan. the pressure changes rapidly and that contributes to the gusty winds we've had today. that will ease up by friday. tomorrow, the winds will start to die down a little bit. this low pressure center will still be spinning around offshore. some scattered clouds overnight. more of them to the east, especially east of the day. a few of them could produce a sprinkle. 57-63 is the overnight low. probably a few more clouds west of the bay. partly cloudy skies. but again, east of the day, more
