suspects are caught. >> i thought it was a horrible accident on 83. >> authorities attempted to arrest a group of suspects they believe are responsible for a string of our robbery throughout the area. >> we had information that led us to believe they were going to commit an armed robbery today. >> as agents and officers moved in to try to make the rest, authorities say four of the six suspects tried to flee in this red car, not before attempting to hit two atf agents who were on foot. >> one of the agents, who was in fear of his like, and the other agents and officers around him, fired one round from his weapon at the driver of the vehicle was attempting to run him over, striking him once in the right shoulder blade. >> the car rammed to a police officer cruiser's before it was stopped.

the suspect was taken to an area hospital with non life- threatening injuries. >> it was a little scary. >> this woman not only witnessed the takedown but actually had time to take some pictures as well. she tells 11 news she is not shocked the bus went down in her community. >> a lot happens down here. >> the police did their job today, taking six pilot individuals off the streets of baltimore. that is what we strive to do every day -- taking 6 violent individuals off the streets of baltimore. >> late breaking details in the death of a teenager allegedly at the hands of an off-duty baltimore county police officer. but this afternoon the state medical examiner to -- rule the teen-ager's death a homicide. what does that mean now for the officer? kim dacey continues our coverage from towson tonight.

>> the officer is a nine-year veteran of the baltimore county police force. he is on paid administrative leave tonight. the medical examiner ruled the teen-ager's death was caused by asphyxiation. his family wants some answers. >> here is a good kid. his last memory should be that he was extremely great personality. >> the family of 17-year-old christopher brown is mourning his sudden and unexpected death. arising junior at randallstown high school, he was a member of rotc and the wrestling team. he -- she got news that he was dead after an altercation with an off-duty baltimore police officer. county police say around 10:30 wednesday night, the off-duty officer was at home in

randallstown when he heard a crash from his front door. police say he opened it and saw several people running away. he chased them through neighbors' yards and across the road. >> the officer here's the young man in the bushes and tells him to come out. the young man reduced to come out, so the officer reached into the bushes and pulled him out. at that point, they engaged with a physical fight and in the course of that physical fight, at some point the young man became unconscious. >> police say the officer performed cpr but christopher dodd at the hospital. the state medical examiner ruled his death a homicide, the cause listed as asphyxiation. a source tells us the officer put christopher in a choke hold. his family struggling to understand how and why this happened. >> where are you doing? what is going on? could you pull him out and talk

to him? it did not have to go this way. he is dead. >> police are conducting an internal investigation in the incident. the state's attorney's office will be the ones to decide if any charges are filed. >> also in baltimore county, a domestic related barricade forcing a high school in to lockdown. police were called to woodlawn around 8:00 this morning to reports of a man barricaded inside a home. we are told the man was ultimately taken into custody without incident after about three hours. his live-in girlfriend and her sister managed to escape. prison for couple convicted of holding prisoner and assaulting a 22-year-old one for nearly nine months. the girlfriend will spend 40 years behind bars.

during that time they collected disability checks from the victim. she was dropped off at a hospital weighing 86 pounds, with multiple injuries. >> a lawsuit has been filed in the shooting of 5-year-old raven wyatt. the mother is seeking $5 million to cover medical costs throughout her lifetime. she says it could have been avoided if the juvenile who fired the shot was better -- better monitored while under house arrest. baltimore city mayor stephanie rawlings-blake and the city technology director are being accused of illegally buying video phones. during wednesday's board of estimates meeting, pratt says

the person did not go before the board and therefore infringed on her authority. the mayor said the technology has benefited the city by saving money. >> excessive is a label a law professor has stepped -- slapped on the 50-day jail sentence handed to a political consultant. julius henson was handcuffed and taken to jail yester day after refusing to apologize at his sentencing for those robocalls in the election in 2009. he was convicted in the case. larry gibson, a professor at the university of maryland school of law today called the sentence and injustice. >> by comparison his codefendant, the sentence is unacceptable. the man convicted of the least

mchenry is at 4:46 in the morning. if you are going to the beach this weekend, you picked a good one. with the wind coming off the water, it will be a little cooler there. a nice weekend at all the del mar beaches and for us as well. the overnight low temperatures in the upper 50's and low 60's. that is about as nice as it gets in the middle of june. it will get warmer by the end of next week. but for a while, smooth sailing. >> this is 11 sports. >> with the on an absolutely beautiful night at camden yards as the orioles back up their home stand in the ever evolving outfield picture with chavez on the disabled list.

the orioles go for a series sweep against the pittsburgh pirates. not the same as in the fall when baltimore play pittsburg, but it is all to the good here in baltimore. this has been an important week for the orioles. brian roberts is back in the lineup. davis has really brought power back and the orioles cummingtonite one game behind the yankees out of first place, looking for a season high tying fifth straight win as they take on the pirates here tonight at the yard. the starters have an interesting story line. eric getting the start with the pittsburg pirates and the orioles tommy hunter will be on the mound. a big day that joe flacco and his wife dana will always remember. today they welcomed their first child into the world, and 8- pound baby boy named stephen. joe flacco is now dad for the first time.

his absence last two days has been quite conspicuous. the defense dominated under the eye of head coach john harbaugh. one injury of concern, he appeared to have injured his right leg. there is no update on the severity of that injury. terrell suggs spoke after practice today, and reconfirmed that he heard his achilles' taking a fitness test. he admitted he was irritated by that news that he had been heard playing basketball. it's killing of suggs to watch practice and not play football.
