police officer has been ruled a homicide. >> as started near the officers home last night in a randallstown. we have more. >> off-duty police officer involved in this case has been paid on -- placed on paid administrative leave. christopher brown's mother is plannin her son's future. uneral. >> you want answers. you feel like part of you is taken. i did not plan to have to bury my child. >> a devastated mother with more questions than answers. the medical examiner's office ruled his death a homicide. he died from asphyxiation after a confrontation with an off-duty police officer at his house in randallstown. the teen-ager's mother is angry and anxious for a full investigation. >> could you talk to him? it did not have to go this way. he is dead. >> the police officer was at his house around 10:00 wednesday

when he went down to investigate a crashing sound. he saw four people run away and chase them to a neighbor's yard before he found brown hiding in some bushes. >> the officer here's a young man in the bushes and tells him to come out. the gunmen refused to come out so the officer reached in and pulled him out. at that point, the man engaged in a physical fight with the officer and in the course of that physical fight, at some point, the young man became unconscious. the officer performed cpr but the teenager was dead. he put the teen in a chokehold. >> so what has to happen now is that our homicide unit as a full investigation to determine what the facts of this case are and whether there was a justifiable use of force.

reports of a man barricaded himself inside the house. after a three hour standoff, the suspect was taken into custody. his quote friend and her sister escaped. >> the man at the center of a cannibalism case faces a beefed up charges involving a separate attack. a grand jury has indicted the 21-year-old on a more serious charge of attempted murder stemming from of violent encounter inside of morgan state university dorm. joshua said he had him over the head with the baseball bat knocking him out. harper county authorities said -- he ate the heart and brain of a family friend. a grand jury has indicted a man accused of secretly recording young boys and public restroom at a maryland rest up. brian williams faces several child pornography charges. williams allegedly used his cell phone to take the images. the indictment alleges williams had similar video files on the

memory card. >> comptroller joan pratt is accusing the mayor of making an unauthorized purchase of half a million dollars. pratt accused mayor rawlings- blake of a legally buying videophones costing $659,000. pratt said the purchase did not go before the board estimates. the mayor says the technology has saved the city money. the solicitor says he still not believe there is any wrongdoing but he will review that particular purchase. all local law professor is calling a 60 day jail sentence of a political consultant excessive. henson was taken into custody immediately after yesterday's sentencing. he was convicted of the least serious offense of leading off the authority line on the robocalls sent out on election night 2010.
