>> it appears a second special session focused on expanded gambling in maryland is a no-go. >> a work group failed to reach a consensus. jennifer franciotti is live with the details of. >> good morning. the calvert wanted a special session for casino expansion, adding a sixth casino in maryland. he isn't clear support of another casino but a work group does not agree. it was proposed as a world- class casino at national harbor but not just a casino. a 13-acre facility with 250 table games. but now that sixth casino seems unlikely. >> there was broad consensus to move forward. there were all these outstanding issues in the way in a way that

maximizes returns for the people of our state. suddenly the house leadership decided they didn't want to share in the consensus. we will continue to talk with them and continued to work. >> a commission could not reach a consensus on the idea of a sixth casino or a proposal to allow table games at the five already approved casinos. the governor was open for a consensus and then a special session and then a referendum. representatives from the cordish company argued that expanding gaming facilities before the five already designated sites were open is premature and not in the state's best interests. representatives were prepared to invest $600 million on the site. reporting live, jennifer franciotti. >> thank you.

supporters of the dream act are launching a new campaign to educate voters on the would0-be new law. if their family has filed tax returns during that time. students willst have to attend community college first and would be eligible to transfer after two years. >> president obama will call on congress to extend low rates on government subsidized student loans. if lawmakers do not do anything by july 1, the interest rates on those loans would double. hallie jackson has more. >> lawmakers think that rates should go down for the student loans but the disagreement comes in as to how to make that happen. on july 4, the rates for loans

will go from 344% up to 6.8%. students would have to pay about $1,000 more on average. democrats wanted to close a tax loophole. republicans thought the money should come from the health care act. both sides are talking about different ways to pick up the $6 billion tab. that's what it would cost to extend the loan rates for another year. these are big numbers. about $117 billion that was given now. if you combine that with private loans, to do more than $1 trillion in debt. student loan debt is the number- one household that behind mortgages. >> and a credit card debt.
