man convicted of second-degree assault and imprisonment. these charges stem from an attack on an african-american teen during neighborhood watch patrol. lawmakers do not want to eat -- prosecutors are looking for probation -- the defense is looking for probation and community service. he faces up to 10 years in prison. monday, a city a jury -- a city jury awarded $15 million to the parents of a toddler whose parents say they waited more than an hour for an emergency surgery in 2010 and believe that is what caused several disabilities. the hospital says while they are sympathetic, but that the proper care was provided. it is one of the largest malpractice payouts in maryland.

the bellaire firefighters were suspended and demoted in light of a facebook controversy earlier this month. one member posted a complaint about a local sonic restaurants offering discounts to military members and police officers, but not firefighters. the post read that even went myself and the whole crew turnout for lidge from the managers still says only police and military get the discount. cool, thanks. the company chief said the appeal of the fifth firefighter punishment is still pending. >> it was another cool start today. 59 degrees was recorded at b.w.i. @ norgard marshall. the normal high temperature for the time of year, 86.

a man's body was discovered just before 10:00 p.m. last night. he suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his head and torso. he was taken to sinai hospital where he was pronounced dead. no word on suspects at this hour. a north carolina man wanted for murder is picked up by law enforcement. a multi-agency task force caught him at the welcome center on i- 95 near route 32 in howard county. investigators said they were alerted to buy north carolina authorities -- alerted by north carolina authorities that he would be heading to the area by bus. the confrontation with three police officers. exactly how it played on is unclear. brianna mosley said the police came to her house after a neighbor allegedly called 911. the father of her child allegedly punched her. she said it never happened.

the 19-year-old man took off before they can arrest him for domestic violence. they returned tuesday to serve the warrant and found out him hiding in the closet. >> we saw him reaching for something and our use of force guidelines for officers do not require someone to wait before they get a gun or a knife. our officer attempted to strike him on hand because they saw him reaching for something. because they were struggling, he was struck on the head. >> he has a standing chordate next week for a probation violation prior to this incident. this comes two weeks after a 17- year-old randallstown boy died in an altercation with an off- duty police officer. the officer is on paid administrative leave, pending investigation. coming up, details on an effort to recover victims after an all

is still alive. also, one other person is still thought to be under the debris. the mall collapsed saturday afternoon. so far, one person confirmed dead. meanwhile, a wildfire in colorado doubled overnight to 24 square miles and is now threatening the u.s. air force academy. officials say destroyed 6,200 acres, adding that the dry conditions and shifting winds made battling the flames extremely difficult. at least one person has died in a fire that started june 23 in waldo canyon. oscar-winning screenwriter and director nora ephron died tuesday night at a new york hospital from complications from a blood disorder. she is known for films such as "sleepless in seattle" and "when harry met sally." she was 71 years old.

air conditioner and a break. it's very pleasant weather pattern. we have a low pressure system in new england. it is the sharp contrast from high-pressure to the low pressure that is causing our breezy winds in the nighttime hours. this is what is allowing the heat coming from the south. we have a cold front of the coast to the east. this helped to steer tropical storm debby away. all of that wind and rain has weakened to a tropical depression. it is basically falling apart and has moved out over the atlantic. we continue to have debbi moving out along that front to the east. currently, winds are at 35 miles per hour with debbi. we will heat up over the next seven days. 97 degrees by friday.
