morning -- as i was saying. a police officer faces manslaughter charges in the death of a teenager. >> the teenager died after a confrontation. jennifer franciotti is live with the new details. good morning. >> officer james laboard is a veteran of the police department the was off duty the night he was accused of chasing christopher brown after hearing a loud noise. police say when he caught brown, they got into a fight. the teenagers became unconscious. brown died from asphyxiation. >> in this case, the evidence shows that a moment during this

altercation, officer laboard stepped beyond the scope of this investigation. >> he did not consider the christopher does not come home with that christopher has a family. he did not consider he is a kid. he did not consider anything when he killed him that night. >> that was christopher brown's mother. both charges against laboard are considered felonies. reporting live, jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> we're following a developing story. detectives conduct a raid on the road department involving an investigation into overtime pay. internal affairs executed the search warrant. the search warrant look for

records as part of the investigation. the possible abuse of overtime pay. totaling tens of millions of dollars each year in overtime. the department gave no comment on the investigation. a personnel move -- john king left the department. he was brought an early this year by fred bealefeld who wants to trading standards for city police. the department has not provided details on why king left. detective anthony fata faces perjury charges. prosecutors say he falsified his story to get workers' comp.
