holding -- raping her repeatedly. he is being called a danger. he met the young woman before ond had corresponded and hav facebook. at one point he threatened her with a knife. >> the crime out of a relatively quiet neighborhood. police are looking for two men who robbed and shot a man as he was walking home from work. we have more from baltimore police headquarters. >> police tell us they do not have much to go on with the shooting. the good news is that the victim was expected to survive. police are hoping to talk to the victim to get a better picture of what his attackers look like. >> it is disturbing.

with our business, we thrive on this neighborhood and everyone is close-knit in this neighborhood. and for something like that to happen it hurts a neighbor. >> it is a shock to learn that less than half a block away police say a man was shot twice and robbed as he was coming home from work. >> they live in the neighborhood so for them to not able to walk through the streets and have to worry about being shot and robbed. that is a big problem. >> after midnight, two men approached the victim and pulled a gun. he was shot twice. once in the face and once in the neck. the suspects fled down moravia road toward bel-air. >> we have not had any problems in our area and i have been here 37 years. >> folks who live in the neighborhood behind where the

shooting occurred say it is very quiet and violent crime is rare. >> this is outside of our neighborhood. the problem is the outsiders that come in. >> others are hoping the shooting is not a trend. >> this comes in waves. nothing like that has happened here for a long time. >> are representative from the improvement association tells me the victim in this case was an employee of a mcdonald's in that area. the victim's condition is improving. anyone with information is asked to call city police. >> we have an update on breaking news we've brought you yesterday.

fire officials said today it brings the most -- today brings the most promising conditions to get ahead of the fire. >> we're retrogressive. we have the first break in the weather that we've had since we have been here. >> fire crews are numbering near 1500. switching from defense to offense for the first time in four days. >> it will be difficult and take time. there will be smoke and fire for quite some time. >> for evacuees, this fire has been an emotional and physical rollercoaster. >> we evacuated a couple of days ago due to the smoke, came back, and we had mandatory evacuation began. now monument is under evacuation. >> this is one of nine major wildfires burning. there are dozens of other fires burning in several other western states. 32,000 residents remain

evacuated including those at the u.s. air force academy. there is no word yet on when they might be able to return. >> we began with a landmark new device that could change the way doctors view the labor process. it allows scientists to get a better idea on how things work and could enable babies to be delivered more smoothly. people can watch live footage of a child being born from inside the womb. the video gives scientists a real time detailed view of childbirth. it can help them gain information about the proper management of labor and delivery and determined which mothers will need see sections long before they happen. another study shows a pregnant woman should take the load off their feet. too much standing can affect the growth of a developing fetus. women hold jobs that require

long periods of standing had babies with smaller heads. the same for women who worked more than 40 hours a week during their third trimester. working up to 36 weeks seem to have no impact. the fda has new guidelines to make it easier for people to use sunscreen. you already think you know how. only 20% to 25% use it correctly. that is because of confusing product labels. they say they are waterproof many manufacturers have not tested along the products last on the skin. sunscreen will be labeled as water resistant for 40 or 80 minutes which is an indicator of when people should reapplied. the new level should appear on themselves -- on the shelves in december.

and parents could see changes to the grating regulation. >> will those changes affect rates that show up on report cards? >> it would not affect the letter grade but it will in some make clear how they go about assigning grades. the new rules will be in place by the time students come back from summer vacation but it is getting high marks from the teachers' union which have a hand in drawing up the regulation. >> what the difference is is how many re when the materials will be turned in and the feeling they have mastered the material. >> there were different

arundel county. the gas leak. >> this is a serious gas leak. south of route 3. this is the 900 block of echo bay court. fire officials were notified to respond because of a gas leak at this location. the gas leak is so severe there in the process of evacuating 12 homes. we do not have reports of injuries but anybody trying to use the road should be a bias is shut down. >> make sure that does not happen to you. that is the state fire official.
