the heat wave, we did not hit 100 degrees in downtown baltimore, after three consecutive days. today's high was just 96 degrees. that is still way above the normal high of 87, but at least it did break the heat wave a little bit. 94 degrees out at bwi marshall. this is now the 16th time the temperature has topped 90 at the airport this year. on the same day last year, we had 11 90-degree days. still 90 at the airport, but a very comfortable 79 up in the mountains. a beautiful 82 on the beach at ocean city. the i-95 corridor, one of the hot spots in the area, but the

other slight improvement we saw today is that the atmosphere dried out a little bit. bwi marshall with the dewpoint region of 56. you can take temperatures a little higher when the dewpoint gets a little bit lower. the other good news heading into tuesday morning with clear skies. no big storms on the horizon for this evening. temperatures will be able to cool off tonight, 60's in the suburbs and 70 downtown. a slight improvement here, although it will not last very long. look at the heat over the rest of the country. getting close to 100 in denver. not only will temperatures continue in the 90's but humidity levels will start to climb again. that leads to a few isolated thunderstorms, about a 20% chance tomorrow.
