several lights around in baltimore city. use extra caution this morning. this is the west side of the beltway at baltimore national pike. both loops are moving just fine with light volume. this is 95 at the fort mchenry toll plaza. southbound traffic is moving just fine. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> the continuing efforts by b.g.e. to restore all the power knocked out by friday storm. more than 170,000 customers without power. there were more than 240,000 without power yesterday morning at this time. crews have been restore power to more than 70,000 customers in the past 24 hours.

b.g.e. crews had restored power to more that half a million customers in total since friday. be ge's is exercising a strict protocol -- b.g.e. is exercising strict protocol. they go after power feeders that clean to a large clusters of up to 2,000 customers. this is according to a b.g.e. spokesman. >> we need to plan for the worst and hope for the best. this could be a long restoration period. it could extend into the weekend. >> we will have a live interview coming up later this morning during our 6:00 a.m. hour. nadia ramdass is live at the

airport this morning where officials have set up a staging area for all those on the state crews that are here to help. >> good morning. hundreds of thousands of people throughout maryland are still without power. it takes a village to restore power to so many people, b.g.e. has solicited help from workers from out of state to bring power back to the state. we're being joined here live with a member of b.g.e. thank you so much for joining us this morning. tell us about the utility workers that are coming here to this staging area. >> they want to help us get our power back on. we're all working hard. we're working up to 16 hours a day.

at one neighborhood in colorado springs. not much left except the foundations. nearly 350 homes were lost in that fire. crews have stopped that fire from growing any bigger. an international guard plane crashed over the weekend in south dakota. the plane was outfitted with a fire- out fboard fighting system. the guard would confirm that some of the crew survived. the cause of the crash is still under investigation. look at this bizarre car chase in los angeles on monday. the driver tries to get through an off ramp and smashes into another car. then she crashes through some fencing on the other side of the lane. she appeared to surrender by i

>> probably because stores later volume. people at of town and not going to work this week. we're seeing lighter volume on the roadways -- people out of town and not going to work this week. we did pick up a disabled vehicle on northbound 895 just past the tunnel which is blocking the right lane. we have fire activity in a gwynn oak at southern cross road. a traffic light out and 97 -- we have a couple of incidents, one is a disabled tractor- trailer southbound at nicodemus road. a few things to watch out for. a lot of lights out around the area, especially in baltimore city. this is a live look at baltimore national pike along the west side.

are meeting with out-of-state crews who are here to help. >> a lot of help. 3300 out-of-state utility workers are assisting b.g.e. with restoring power to the committee. 780 workers are staying here at the airport. joining us live this morning is a member with b.g.e. these workers have a big task ahead of them. tell us who they are. >> we have utility workers from 15 states that are augmenting our staff in the field. they have up to 16-hour days and are going out and removing trees and putting up walls and roof stringing wires. poles andpoll up wire

restringing wires. we have made a lot of progress but we still have a big job ahead of us. at this point with this storm, we have more than 680,000 customers that have been impacted. more than 500,000 have been packed in service. this is very time intensive work but we're working as quickly and safely as we can. >> this will take a bit of time. many of these workers want to stress to please be patient because they are dealing with dangerous high voltage equipment. we want to send them back home
