degrees. it is at the noon hour, and already up to 96 degrees. humidity it does not look impressive. at 46% humidity, but with that heat, that is a lot of moisture in the air. we only have a light was a breeze of about 10 miles an hour. warnings towards the philadelphia. that will extend towards the rest of the day to day and evening hours. just a quick reference point -- in april, one of 90-degree day. four so far in july. today is the fifth day we have had a 90-plus. 18 so far this summer season. that is a lot, and we're still counting. >> coming up on a week without power for thousands of marylanders.

more than 49,000 customers are entering their sixth day without electricity and air- conditioning, and nearly half of them are in baltimore county. nadia ramdass has more on the efforts by the bge crews to get the lights on as they entered the home stretch. >> wight avenue and charles street, another community is without power, and a number of roads are closed to traffic. that is because there is a number of downed trees, some of them resting on power lines. crewmembers expect more to come out here to resolve this issue. one resident as she has been hearing that for days. the number of power outages are shrinking. but for those without power, it is and not drinking enough. >> -- not shrinking enough. >> the tree has taken out all our lines. >> she, along with her neighbors

in the community, have been without power since last friday's severe storm. the number of power outages to continue to shrink, but there are thousands sitting in the dark. >> it is at uncomfortable, it is hard sleeping at night. all of a sudden feeling sick, and -- all of us have been feeling sick, and we have bouts of lead additives, feeling nauseated. >> it was hard adjusting to no electricity, hot water, or food in the house. >> i'm having to go to my niece's house to shampoo my hair, i'm going to charge my phone over there, i am going to use her computer for a few minutes. and i'm running out of batteries. >> bge expects repairs to continue through the week.

nadia ramdass, wbal-tv 11 news. >> security was a major concern. police took big measures to keep the area safe following incidents on the port last year, one of them deadly. so far, police have not reported major issues at the inner harbor last night. some people said they were elected to attend, but felt relieved -- when relieved they were -- some people said they were reluctant to attend, but felt relief when they found the police presence. >> commissioner barksdale has made sure we have a new plan in place that will focus on agility and mobility. officers can move swiftly through parts of the city or area that we may determine to be a problem. >> the only thing they had to deal with after the fireworks, a lot of cars heading home.

there was at least one tragedy during the holiday break a 3- year-old boy drowned in an anne arundel county pool. officials responded to a pool at old riverside road. the boy was taken to the hospital. he didn't survive. fire investigators are working to determine what sparked two separate night fires in baltimore city. the latest happen at the 4600 block of liberty heights ave. fire shot through the roof of the old ambassador movie theater. about an hour earlier, crews responded to the 400 block of robert street in north baltimore. there, crews found heavy fire in two-story row houses. president obama kicks off a bus tour through a key swing states as he swings into full campaign mode after the july 4 holiday

so pretty and so fleeting. a technical difficulty resulted in all the fireworks being set off at exactly the same time, so instead of a 15-minute show, 5000 people gathered were treated to a dazzling technical that only lasted a few seconds. the event's producers are investigating because of the mishap. the judge in the trayvon martin murder trial has set bail for george zimmerman at $1 million. the judge initially granted him a bond at $150,000, then later revoked after prosecutors accused him and his wife of lying to the court about the money they had raised. zimmerman and's defense attorney says his client acted out of fear for his family's safety. a south florida lifeguard gets fired after trying to help a swimmer in trouble. he left his designated watch area to rescue someone in an hour out that the lifeguards and

to the west. here is a front. there's not much going on on that front, but it is a boundary. with these hot and humid conditions, boundaries are places where a thunderstorm activity can focus. the storm activity out to the west has outflows of air that create boundaries that's on the good form, as well -- that something could form on as well. we will see what happens as the boundary tries to come in on top of this heat and humidity. this ridge of high pressure, with this hot, humid air -- it will be in the neighborhood right through the weekend before we see substantial change. we are well into the 90s to near 100. this probably should be adjusted a bit. right around 104 the high today.
