nadia ramdas, wbal-tv 11 news. over half of these residents are in baltimore county. they are restoring power to 700,000 customers. wbal radio is saying once all power is restored, they will have 21 days to report on how they managed our restoration. they will evaluate if it was possible to handle this matter. thousands of aid workers have been brought in to help with the efforts. a 3-year-old boy died after an accident in an anne arundel county pool wednesday night.

it happened around 9:45 wednesday night on old riverside road. we're told the boy was at a party in he was later found at the bottom of the pool and pronounced dead at harbor hospital. a 12-year-old prince george's county boy is facing murder charges today accused in the beating death of a toddler who lived in foster care with his family. the suspect's father tried to revive the daughter when they found her. he is now being charged as a juvenile with second-degree murder. in today's project economy report, only 8000 new jobs reported in june, 20,000 -- only 80,000 new jobs reported, 20,000 less than expected. brian mooar has the latest from

>> the new numbers are out on june retail sales than they are not good. for shoppers worried about the job is cutting back on spending, merchants released disappointing sales results on thursday raising concerns about americans' ability to purchase during the back-to-school shopping season. the full report could push retailers to drop their prices before school starts. there is better news that the palm today. as prices continue to go down.
