missing. police say he was last seen at around 9:30 on his grandmother's porch. he mentioned he did not want to go on to his mother and took off. the boy has left home before. he was last seen wearing black nikes sneakers. call the missing persons unit if you have seen him. a firefighter is in jail charged with running a prostitution ring. >> jennifer franciotti is live downtown with some details for us. i understand this is not the first time this firefighter has been in some sort of trouble. >> almost the same type of trouble. 2010, jamar simmons was arrested. we do know he has been a

firefighter since 2002. police detectives raided his alleged headquarters in a warehouse in south baltimore. detectives have been investigating him along with franklin coit november of last year. >> we found a handgun, ammunition, a small knot of marijuana and various documents that would suggest an online prostitution and trafficking business was being conducted from the location. >> how investigators found out about the alleged prostitution ring and more on his 2010 arrest for a similar case of prostitution. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> some controversy around the fire department from the proposed pay raise for the fire chief. the mayor is expected to make a request for the pay raise today.

now to another state. the man who fell off a boat in cecil county has died. he was from pennsylvania and cleaning his bow when the accidentat lee fell overboard. -- he was cleaning his boat when he fell over. >> the owner of several liquor stores have been invited to a meeting to discuss rezoning of their establishments. they want to phase out liquor sales. violent crime tends to cluster around neighborhood liquor stores. the zoning change would affect about 100 stores. >> people that are brought up in that environment is not going to change because there is no

70's. 75 on the boardwalk. low to mid 60's out in far western maryland. here is where the front is stalled. it will be there all day long. scattered thunderstorms down to the south. there could be something in the mountains west of us. here's what the map will look like by late afternoon and early evening. high pressure is holding the tropical air to the south of us. you can see the cooler air from new england pushing down. the cooler air is up in the great lakes and cannot push far south enough to pull us down. partly cloudy skies with an isolated shower. the highest chance to be out west. the wind will be south easily from 5 to 10 miles per hour.

>> they found out through a tip. that is out investigators were able to find out about this. we dit was just two years ago that jamar simmons was arrested and a similar prostitution case. police detectives raided his alleged headquarters at this warehouse in southwest baltimore on monday. >> we found a handgun, ammunition, a small amount of marijuana, and various ledgers and documents that would suggest that an online prostitution and human trafficking operation was being conducted from the location. >> detectives have been investigating jamar simmons and franklin coit since november of last year. a cyber tip led them to a website advertising jobs for prostitutes. an informant said that they had three to six girls working as

prostitutes at any given time, either at the warehouse or at various hotels. this is not the for first-time both men had been in trouble with the law. jamar simmons was given probation before judgment and a fine. a spokesperson explained why jamar simmons kept his job after that 2010 case. >> a uniformed member of our department would have to be -- the outcome of the case by the judicial system would have to be a guilty plea. if that is not the case, we don't get into that. that would be how we would proceed with our penalties and dispositions. >> as of right now, jamar simmons has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of this case. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you.
