accident. right now one person is still missing. one person has been accounted for. the sheriff's office confirms search and rescue boats were scow erring the waters before calling it off. no word on the missing boaters age and identity. we'll continue to bring you the very latest. now to some late breaking details in serge for an accused gunman. 11 news have located the suspect's getaway car at an ellic ott city spa. pham the wanted for an attempted murder, assault and gun offenses. investigators arrived at the nail spa last night and got into a fight with a man outside. he chased the man inside the salon, opened fire and took off. the female victim was working inside and had a protective over against pham. both victims are in critical condition. the vehicle is located in allen lane within the last 90 minutes.

now to tonight's big story. two dozen apartment units were destroyed in an early morning fire in randall town and now investigators are trying to figure out what sparked the blaze. sheldon is live at fire station 18 with the latest. >> there are some good news to pass along even with all of those apartments being damaged. no injuries have been reported, but the official number of displaced victims are unknown since a lot of those units were vacant. fire officials are grateful because this could have been a lot worse. when firefighters arrive at the garden view apartments early sunday morning they were greeted by these unruley flames. >> i just hope nobody was in it because that thing was ablaze, an inferno. >> i was praying that nobody got hurt because how bad it looked, it's just bad. this video was provided by michael sportsburg.

and it destroyed 22 units. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. but fire officials think it spread to the attic. they had the fire under control about an hour and a half later. fires contained to that apartment and to the attic area. a lot of water damage to the rest of the area. the residence were displaced due to the water damage. when the firefighters were praying the roof, the roof was caving in. >> it's unknown how many residents were displaced. but the leasing office and the red cross were helping victims find a temporary place to stay. despite all the property that was destroyed in the fire, david brulin is relieved that his neighbors are all right. >> i know a lot of families are displaced. when you lose your home, it's got to be bad.

again, no injuries have been reported. firefighters working smoke alarms helped alert out of those people get out. >> just hours before those flames broke out in randallstown crews responded to another town. this one at a home that was undergoing renovation. that fire spread to a nearby wooded area and it took 150 firefighters more than an hour and a half to get it all under control. no one was living there at the time. investigators were working determine the cause. thousands of b.g.e. customers lost power after some fast moving but powerful storms rolled through. meteorologist is in the weather system. those storms came and went very quickly. >> right but the strongest weather has been to the north of us. we'll take a look at the radar

moving through southern pennsylvania. a little rain went through the city here. and by far the worst of the weather is near philadelphia and those big storms are moving offshore now. there is another storm activity coming out of west, virginia so we're likely to see one more band of rain coming here tonight. you can see rain estimates. two bands of rain mostly north of us and south of us. baltimore's been in kind of a hole with all of this and we've only received generally here in the metropolitan area. the heat and humidity will be up for quite a while as we go into the week with some hot but not record-breaking temperatures. forecast details just ahead. a baltimore police officer is on administrative leave after shooting and killing a man in northwest baltimore. authorities identify the man as devante bowman.

he was with a semi-automatic gun. he took off leading to a brief chase. one of the officers fired his gun killing him. >> the state medical examiner is conditioning an autopsy of a man . . the body was found on merritt boulevard. they believe that the body has been there for some time but say the investigation is ongoing. police are trying to determine if alcohol and drugs are a factor that claimed the life of a baltimore city man. marcel donnell smith was traveling southbound on 83 when his motorcycle collided with a car. he traveled at a high rate of speed. he had some marijuana in his

position. person in car was not injured. >> now the scandal that has rocked penn state. sports analyst bob costas says today that the university needs to suspend its football program for at least a year following the release of the free report. that report is the independent investigation into penn state in jerry sandusky's sexual abuse of children by lewis freed. and found that coach joe paterno hid accusations. he said if the university doesn't take action against football program, the ncaa will. >> but if they play come september at penn state, something's wrong. >> as for joe paterno's legacy, costas says that free report does irreparable damage. he said they enabled sanduskies abuse. -- sandusky's abuse.

we have had some thunderstorms passed to the north of us. we did get a few showers this evening. the big storms have been up in philadelphia and new jersey. a lot of that's moved. those are loaded with lightning. unbelievable amounts of lightning strikes. there is cluster activity coming from western virginia beginning to cross the potomac and washington county. a lot of lightning is has gone from it. these showers could pass. 95 was the high. 99 at the inner harbor. the record was 102. records for the next few days will be in the 100's even though we will be hot and humid. we had.6 of rain. we had a trace earlier this morning. only a trace of race here. where have temperatures been? they've been up and down. the normal is 88. all right. so we've been down and up and down and up hovering at 8 in the past week. it's unbearable.

now we're going to add humidity to it. so we'll be soldly in the 90's for the next few days, with high humidities. it's warm this evening, 81, cambridge 80. and 77 elkton. 75 parkton. 77 westminster. western maryland's in the 60's right now. these are the really big storms. most of that has been north of us and here's the stuff coming in from the west. it's kind of demirning. thunder and lightning has dispated. but that's due from west to east. we'll pick up a few showers. this dotted line indicates the trough. that's kind of a partial front, a very weak front. it's been moving through the area and that's been the focus for some of this storm activity. it will be moving up to sea. and there is this big area of high pressure is just pumping in all of this moisture and warm
