the day with the heat and humidity. we have a few clouds in the sky. sunny skies and toasty temperatures. highs near 100 degrees. 95 for ocean city. the mountains have been isolated chance for a thunderstorm. it will turn drier by this afternoon. details in the seven-day forecast. >> linda start by apologizing in advance because it will be a mess -- let me start by apologizing. lombard street is closed and we have closures along light street between fiat and lombard. expect delays throughout the day. kim dacey is live at the scene and she will have a report shirley. mount royal is closed in advance

of artscape. plenty of closures downtown. another problem on the east side of the beltway, an accident just past peninsula expressway. you have to get off at peninsula express. in terms of traffic, not a lot in terms of delays. traffic is the toward in the area of peninsula expressway and they may have it off to the side. that is a good news. the accident is off to the right shoulder. traffic is flowing once again. the rest of the major roadways in very good shape. this is a live view from skyteam 11 up above this water main break. we'll continue to monitor these closures in the city. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11.

at the worst possible time. during the evening rush hour. the water main was built in the 1890's and most likely deteriorated because of its old age. seven businesses were impacted because of the break. the affects on the road may be since the longer versu asphalt began buckling. >> you have water gushing under the asphalt and that will cause a void under there. that happens with even small water main breaks. >> officials are not sure how long it will take to fix the main. it depends what they find when they go underground. they are asking folks to avoid this, if they can. take public transportation. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> we want to give the look at the streets to avoid. where st. paul becomes light

75 was the low this morning at the airport. 80 was the low at the inner harbor. the record to be at today is 101. we will be getting close to that. 83 was the downtown temperature. 72 in westminster. looking down to the lower eastern shore, 77 in ocean city. the dew point temperatures have been decreasing. that means the humidity has been dropping. 70 degrees at the airport. 70's across the eastern shore. look up to the north. we're seeing the dew point temperatures starting to drop. it could be a lot worse if we had higher humidity. a thin band of clouds up to our north. mostly sunny skies and pretty hazy.

and light street. captain roy is monitoring the situation. how is the traffic situation? >> right now the traffic situation is on the light side. everybody has been heeding the warnings. we have seen very little traffic. as the morning goes on, it will get worse because there are only so many ways you can navigate around downtown baltimore city. eding to the hea warning. you can take a bus or light rail at to get downtown as opposed to navigate through here. this is a fairly good-sized hole that is down here on light street.
