>> live, local, late-breaking, this is wbal-tv 11 news today. >> things seem to be moving slowly now, but that was not the case during the morning rush hour. good afternoon, everyone. that is our big story at a noon. a weather man busted at 5:00 causing quite a mess downtown.

things are expected to stay that way for the next three weeks. live from downtown with the latest on that situation. >> i'm at the intersection. both of these streets are closed. that is the major area that buckled because of the water main break. overhead, showing the work that is being done right now. the big question, of course, is how long will it take to reopen the street? approximately three weeks, as you mentioned. it was monday afternoon when a main burst. there is also a 10-inch water main. the department plans to take out both of the broken main and the old one.

>> at least 11 people were hit by gunfire inside a crowded bar in alabama. the incident may be related to an earlier shooting that happened less than one hour before, just a few miles away. the gunmen fired shots in what appeared to be a military-style assault weapon. the victims are in intensive care. on the campaign, the senate foreign relations committee is having a hearing on human

along that. running into the high pressure. the air is relatively dry here. it is not as humid as it was yesterday. temperature is, well? we were barely comfortable, at or just below in a bit normal yesterday. boom. we are going to be up there as temperatures fall below this normal line of 87, 88 degrees or so. if we take a look at the pollen count. another set of numbers here. trees are not counting at all. grass in the moderate range. 569 for the count. temperatures at the noon hour. indianapolis, 93. at 91 on the boardwalk at ocean city. edgewood, at 92. 92 frederick. it is 79 out in far western maryland.

everybody has sunshine here. you take a look at the dew points yesterday. it was a sultry day yesterday. this is all technical stuff. the dew points down today. our do points are now in the upper 50's. technically, it makes it feel a little bit more comfortable. their only one of degree or two about what it really feels like. temperature is right around 95 to 100 or so. we are not suffering as much today, if you want to believe that. here is the satellite image. the real fun is up the wake of the storm track. a lot of humidity in the atmosphere, basically, speaking. piquancy it dominates the eastern 2/3 of the country, all the way to the atlantic coast -- you can see it dominates the

easton 2/3 of the country, all the way to the atlantic coast. that will not be changing. very hot. 97 to 102. the committee is not as extreme today, but it goes back up tomorrow. can expect south wins in the bay. the insta-weather future cast shows by this evening a north the bus, but not threatening any rain here. especially to the west of us into the end of the day, a few scattered showers. we do get higher humidity into our forecast. we stick their rain chance in there by the end of the day.

friday morning, moving up. after all that goes through, we'll be in the 80's 4 highs, going into the weekend. >> in today's medical alert, older adults may have a higher risk for early debt. there are more severe than what is normal for the aging process, but not serious enough to affect daily life. they had twice the risk for an early death and cognitively normal peers. more than 1/3 of adults are considered obese. a milestone announcement, more than 30 years after the first known case of hiv aids was detected in baltimore. for the first time, the fda has approved a drug intended to prevent the virus that causes aids.
