the home page. >> police are awaiting autopsy results that could give them out more information about a body found over the weekend. a woman was found in an apartment. police say there are no signs of foul play. the autopsy results should be released sometime this week. new rules for abortion clinics in maryland. clinics will have to apply for licenses. 1,500cs will have to pay $5,00 for a three-year license. >> ray lahood will be in baltimore later today to make a big announcement regarding funding to improve transit service in baltimore city and baltimore county. the announcement will be at 1:30

>> welcome back. 6:11. you can see some fog on the horizon. there is some patches of drizzle and sprinkles to start the day. nothing of any consequence. 72 at the airport. 69 in parkton. the dew points are in the low 70's. it feels a tropical out there. the dew point in annapolis is 73. 80 degrees in chicago. there will make it into the mid to upper 90's. that warm air will be sliding to the east. it was " this weekend. we did not get out of the 60's on saturday. will be close to 90 today.

there could be some showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. you can kind of see this happening in ohio and parts of west virginia. some of that rain will catch up to us. a mixture of sun and clouds. it will be warm and humid. upper 80's and low 90's. the average high temperature is 87. .e will be above the mark the record today is 102. wave heights near one foot. tonight, partly cloudy skies and still a chance for a shower or thunderstorm. temperatures drop back into the 70's. scatter thunderstorms possible again tomorrow. a front will go through on tuesday night. that should get rid of the

sunday night. -- in texas. a tire blowout on a pickup truck causing it to crash into a tree. the crash is now being investigated by immigrations and custom officials. >> the drought in the midwest could dry up recent savings at the pump. ethanol is made from corn and is an ingredient in gasoline. tree growers are concerned about the drought's effect on certain crops, including christmas trees. most companies are done laying off companies for the year, according to a survey. 70% of the companies have no layoff plans through the end of

two young men who died shielding their girlfriends from bullets. fathers, sons, daughters, each with lives were cut short. the president talked privately with families of the victims. >> my main task was to serve as representative of the entire country and let them know that we're thinking about them at this moment and we will continue to think about them each and every day. >> the suspect, james holmes, today will be advised of his rights. the judge will set a date for the formal filing of charges. this is the start of a legal process that will take months. >> we will convict him, yes. >> at issue is whether the death penalty will be chosen. the defense will argue whether he is mentally competent. evidence will include all that was found inside the suspect's

apartment. explosive devices were destroyed yesterday. today the residents of the apartment building may be allowed to return. reporting from colorado. >> citizens and officials across the country are focusing on the debate of gun control laws once again. nadia ramdass is in downtown baltimore with what some are saying. >> political leaders are saying the massacre of colorado is reason enough to rethink gun- control laws. authorities say james holmes, the man who allegedly killed 12 people and wounded 58 at a packed movie theater in colorado, bought the weapons he used legally. that has opened up the debate about gun control. some say this is a vivid reminder of the need to make weapons harder to get. but defenders of gun rights say restricting sales will not end mass shootings. >> legislators across this country should not be afraid of

>> welcome back to 11 news today. 6:44. the suspect in the colorado shootings is expected to make a court appearance later this morning. an arraignment is scheduled for 24-rolled james holmes -- 24- year-old james holmes. the police chief in colorado said the police chief followed months of calculations. new rules are set to go into effect in maryland for abortion clinics.
