applicants. >> why? what were the reason behind the demand? >> it seems that the job market had a fair amount to do with it. guys who might traditionally have a job in education or coaching, like working with kids, might have trouble finding work. they look at it as another option. the spike in the manny population dove tails with what we call the man session from 2007 to 2009, about 70% or more of jobs lost were lost to guys. so it seemed like this became a new option for people who might not be having such luck in the regular job market and looking for something to do. >> i imagine a lot of single moms with boys wanting to have that male roll model. >> from people i spoke to the biggest population of people interested were parents with boys and wanted a male role model in the household and high executive single women, again, with boys who were looking for that male role model.

happy with their nancy echo sentiments but also stereotypes. is it hard for men to break into this career? >> absolutely. if you're a family looking for a nanny and a 50-year-old woman applies for the job, you're not going to think anything about it. if a 50-year-old man applies for the job, not only are you not hiring them, you're probably calling the police. it raises a red flag. the way we're trained to think about, like guys are unnatural to take care of kids. there is stereotyping and assumptions we definitely have to get over. >> you guys are great examples. we definitely have to look past that. thanks for being here. >> thank you very much. coming up as the olympics get closer, we are taking a cue from london, we're putting brush flair into men's style. but first these messages. ♪
