attacked did summon the other officer to assistant him. that other officer fired at least one round to the suspect. >> the suspect died from his injuries. >> b.g.e. reports to state regulators on how they responded to the outages after the big storm in late june. the company found on average customers waited about 38 hours for their power to be restored. they expressed the importance of educating their customers. >> we have to find a better way to educate our customers. we have to be collectively smart about the fact that these restoration efforts can take days.

6:15. let's check the roads with sarah. >> we are tracking an accident that has some lane closures on the inner loop of the beltway is right near 295. expect delays in that area. northbound 95 at caton avenue, a disabled vehicle clearing. light street is closed between baltimore and lombard. if you head out on the outer loop northeast side, 11 minutes to get you through that stretch. five minute travel time on southbound 95 from the 895 split to the fort mchenry. this is 95 at caton avenue. everything is moving well in this camera. this is the beltway at 295. the right shoulder is getting by in the inner loop of the beltway. we will keep you posted.

celebrating in baltimore. jennifer franciotti is live outside a familiar spot to michael phelps's family. >> 15 gold medals and that is six more than any olympian ever . he has two silver and two bronze and this is where it all began for him. when a meadowbrook alum won an olympic gold medal for swimming back in 1984, those in the pool thought they had reached their pinnacle. but now they can brag that the most decorated olympian in history swam here when he was a kid. >> i don't think anybody could have seen this coming. i think the coach certainly had some foresight in to how good michael could be. >> with 19 olympic medals, michael phelps has swam his way into the record books. his hometown pool club couldn't wait for the races to air on tv, so they crammed around a computer to watch him shatter a world record. >> very exciting.

we will still see the same day to day service. this default is a sign of a deeper concern of the long term health of the usps. they are losing $25 million a day. they have a plan to become more profitable. some of those plants require approval from congress and that has not happened yet. >> why did they take out the loan in the first place? >> congress mandated that the cover health pension payouts to future retirees, said vote they took out 8 $13 billion loan. that mandate is such a burden and he would like to see congress repealed it all
