in an olympic games. >> in other news, cal ripken jr. has been a part of countless press conferences over the years but none like the one earlier friday. he spoke out for the first time since his mother was the victim of a bizarre kidnapping and he was obviously still shaken over what happened to her. we have the latest from camden yards. >> he says his mother is still dealing emotionally with this whole situation but he says overall she is doing pretty good. he made a bold statement about what the evidence in this case is telling him about what happened. the police confirm the video of the man suspected of kidnapping cal ripken's mother at gunpoint was taken from a wal-mart in glen bernie. the police would not disclose what he purchased but they receive roughly 10 tips from the public says they released it to the public. a composite sketches on highway billboards.

>> and multiple crash and evening rush hour. this was brought to you as breaking news. it happened at east baltimore street and north point boulevard. one person was taken to shock trauma and is in critical condition. six other people suffered less than severe injuries. some scary moments for customers and workers at a denny's restaurant. this total was not showing the flames shooting through the roof. the flames broke out at about 10:30 among the 1800 block. it took six fire departments about an hour to get things under control. thankfully, no one was injured. >> a deal has been reached between members of a baltimore county community and an

practices at the stadium. both are free and open to the public. you might remember what the scene looked like inside the stadium. the gates opened later this afternoon at 3:34 the 5:00 practice. you can sit in the stands, get a look at the players and cheerleaders. you have to pay $10 for parking. all of the proceeds from that go to help kids in need. dozens of maryland athletes, special olympic competitors were invited to watch the team practice. >> for some, it was once in a lifetime. >> the special olympic swimmer is just coming off of the first place to win in the 50 meter freestyle. on her list of achievements, her days spent at ravens' practices coming in as a close second. >> it was exciting. to see the players. >> and she was all smiles as she

atorrow's public practice the stadium. under union rules, players get two days on the practice field before they put on shoulder pads. the young players can benefit most from today's practice at the stadium since the change of venue and the crowd noise creates a few challenges. >> this practice, yes, but it is a ramp up the environment. last year, some of our young guys went to the stadium atmosphere. the environment got them. it is a chance for them to get in a different setting. to be able to take the whole thing and turn right back to your on performance and cut that crowd out. >> gates open at 3:30 later on today and they practice at 5:00. it will be a great chance for fans to get their first look at
