is now history. >> let's get to our big story. >> the hottest tickets in town handed out for free by the hundreds. >> that is what we found in pages of detailed communications between the mayor's office and employees at first morena. >> they range from picnics to concerts', even the circus. the mayor and members of his staff -- for staff attended dozens of events for free. you could expect to pay a premium to see shows like jay-z and cirque du soleil unless you are lucky enough to get on this list. we uncovered pages of correspondence arranging for free tickets to dozens of events. in some cases the mayor attended with her family. the mayor's office asked for five vip tickets for her husband to attend a fight.

other tickets went to city council members. brandon scott used to receive tickets when he worked in the office of neighborhoods, he gave them to kids at city centers and recreational centers. >> that could show them there's more to all the more than the poor blacks in the neighborhood. >> we ask about the policy. when available, a management will provide the city with a small portion of comp tickets, that has been through 1988 through the current administration. they're provided to the arena by the promoter. in to break, the mirror dressed her decision to take relatives to the city skybox. >> i am sure you would like to think there is some deep philosophy that goes behind it but there is no guiding principle. >> as for the tickets, a spokesman says the city, like many others across the country, provides hundreds of

other requested the documents. >> this ended with a police officer shooting a man. it unfolded monday morning at the wabash avenue courthouse. the officer learned that t-bond -- tayvon williams had at standing war. he needed to use the restroom, he said. once the handcuffs were removed, williams bolted from the building. >> the suspect took a vehicle and backed up and tried to run the answer over. the officer fired three rounds, striking the suspect in the right arm. >> williams was put -- picked up and taken to hospital. he was listed in serious but stable condition. the officer is now on administrative duty. >> devotee and state fire marshals have ruled that a fire near brick 24 is arson and investigators hope a new flow will help them catch the culprit. they believe the man seen here wearing an orange t-shirt,

glasses, and the baseball caps set fire to the restroom. he is a white man, between 5 feet 11 inches and 60 inches tall. it took a minute to get that under control. anyone with information is asked to call the fire marshal's office in belair. the anne arundel fard brenman is asking for help. the teenagers seen here entered a food line late last month and set off some type of fireworks which caused smoke to billow throughout the store. if you know the identity of the teens, you should call anne arundel fire investigators. >> two people were arrested during a demonstration at city hall. several people protested a variety of issues including public safety, jobs, and the anticipated closing of several

city recreation centers. two demanded an immediate meeting and refuse to leave when they were told the meeting was not possible. there were then arrested. the demonstration was a peaceful one. >> more questions are being raised tonight about whether a shooting at a wisconsin warships center was a hate crime. it happened at a sikh temple where six people were killed, including the gunman. wade michael page entered as dozens prepared for sunday services. the fbi is investigating the case as an act of domestic terrorism and believe he acted alone. he was an army veteran who reportedly was a band member in two white supremacist groups. a leader of the sikh committee said this was at call to increase awareness and it has

>> the longtime pastor of a church in west baltimore has passed away. father damien was found dead in the rectory. he first came to baltimore in 1971 and served as pastor at st. gregory. the police say there is no evidence of foul play. he was 70 years old. >> the cdc and local health officials are warning of a new swine flu outbreak. so far there have been 29 total cases of the virus that been reported in the way, ohio, and indiana. this is as thousands are

expected to attend the state fair in its ammonium. experts are urging caution. >> this is usually september until march. this is happening in the summer. it is not a more severe type of the flu. we are making sure that individuals and doctors know that if someone comes down with the signs of the flu and a half into a state or county fair, that is something that should be looked at that it could be the flow. >> health officials say if you do attach a pi -- touch a pig, you should wash your hands with soap and water. the cases in this strain have been mild. >> whooping cough, the number of cases of this deadly and contagious disease have doubled. officials are sending a call for vaccinations to prevent this disease. we have this important medical alert. >> it comes with fever, chills,

watery eyes, and a runny nose. the absolute worst part is the cough. >> the whoop comes as you try to breed an old set out -- breathe and you let out a whoop. the uncontrollable coughing fit can last up to six weeks. and it is not to be taken lightly. >> the cough is so great that you could burst blood vessels in your brain and could die from it. people have died from it. nearly 20,000 cases have been reported. >> this is the largest number of cases we have seen since the 1950's. >> world maryland state health officials did not provide numbers, the state has seen an overall increase.

26% of those have been in children younger than six months. >> probably because people have been -- not been vaccinated. the vaccinations could wear off. the immunity could wear off and therefore you are susceptible. >> fear of vaccines could also be driving the numbers. the cdc recommends a series of vaccines for young children through school age and boosters for adults and adolescents. >> every adult should have one shot in their adult years at least. >> adults can be carriers without full-blown symptoms, they can pass on the disease without realizing it. officials say there is plenty of vaccine available. >> students will be heading back to school in a few weeks. local health officials are reminding parents to get the recommended shots. the first of several walk-in clinics was held at the

we're running for rainfall deficit especially on the eastern shore locations and if you look at the for to this location -- the precipitation, you do not see much in town. this is falling toward the north carolina border. now there is a drought warning. parts of eastern delaware running below so it is getting very dry. especially on the eastern shore. our deficit is boring. 0.6 of this bill 4 -- below normal. we have an 8.5 inch deficit. we did not get much snow and rain has been lacking in many areas through the spring and summer. 92 today at the airport. the record high is the hottest it has been in the month of august. 105 occurred three days back-to- back days on the sixth and seventh in 1918.
