>> team usa ready to win. tracie potts, wbal-tv 11 news. >> national night out events take place all across maryland. >> people take to the streets. jennifer franciotti is live this morning with details of some of last night's local events. >> good morning. here in towson, the event was huge. an opportunity for folks to gather and rally against drugs and violence. last night it was in the mondawmin mall area. there was a similar scene in owings mills. they're encouraging against a life in crime. >> a lot of times when you see criminals, when they do not see you, they don't know you are looking at them. this is bringing people all the people together and making sure that i know these people, they know me, and we can work together as a team.

ernesto made landfall last night as a category 1 hurricane. shore and it is still a tropical storm. it will probably regenerate as a hurricane. it will make land fall again down in mexico. 70 in randallstown. we still have the same front that we were talking about yesterday. you can see it if you plot the dew points. it feels a tropical south. north and west, into the 60's. we have a slight chance for a thunderstorm in the forecast. the best chance will be in southern maryland. we should get to the morning ok just fine. a mixture of sun and clouds. a slight chance for a thunderstorm, up 20% chance.

[no audio] >> lending more money to small business owners like farmers. the drought has affected nearly two-thirds of the continental united states. the eastern shore has been under a drought warning. that is just out this week. we will know more about the corn crop on friday when the latest estimate on the fall harvest. a lot of people are looking to see what the forecast will be. >> any idea what those numbers will look like? >> crops will be cut about 15% . a lower estimate then we have seen. not a rosy picture at all.
