some more storms later this afternoon. high temperature in the mid to upper 80's. right now we're in the 70's. we will check the seven-day forecast going all the way into the weekend. >> good morning. we have closures in the city. light street is closed between baltimore and lombard. monument street is closed near patterson park. otherwise, looking pretty good at the moment. once the rain comes in, things are going to change. 11 minutes on the outer loop northeast side. 10 minutes to go south on 95 down towards 32. here's a quick, live look at traffic. this is wilkins avenue. looking pretty good and moving well from 795 down towards the outer loop. this is york road. traffic is still light on the north side of the beltway.

so for 83 is running smoothly. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> baltimore city and howard county police are working together to find -- >> an officer shot and killed a suspect. jennifer franciotti is live with details. good morning. >> two jurisdictions working together. they got a call and had located and assault suspect they had been looking for all day in colombia. the suspect broke into his ex- girlfriend home just after midnight yesterday and then took off with their child. she was able to escape thursday morning and called police. baltimore city police track down the suspect in columbia. >> the officers arrived here,

baltimore city and howard county police. they were confronted by the suspect outside. they asked him to show them his hands. ultimately the suspect was shot. >> that suspect was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. police to determine that the child was not in the residence at the time of the shooting and has been located later with family members and savfe. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> all the lanes in harford county were shut down yesterday because of a fatal accident. a female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. police are still trying to determine what caused the accident. >> a harassment case against john leopold.

a former employee filed a lawsuit, accusing him of harassment. in a deposition, one of the officers said leopold talked about the size of her breasts. was hired back in 2008. she was transferred to the police department. one of the officers said leopold discussed her complaint and tilden to: the police chief and that there were coming to the police department was taking a position where you would have to interview. at the time of the interview, she was not to get the job. a spokesperson said the officer had no comment. leopold has denied any wrongdoing.

parts of the carroll county and howard county. this is all moving east down. of the rain moving across anne arundel county. everybody will get some rain to start today. scattered showers and thunderstorms this morning. more thunderstorms will likely develop for the evening commute. high temperatures in the 80's. we will check the seven-day forecast going all the way into the weekend. >> attorneys for the accused gunman in the movie theater shooting spree say their client is mentally deficient. this happened in aurora, colorado. 20 news organizations requested unsealed documents but the judge has yet to rule on that request.

>> now insta-weather plus and traffic pulse 11 together. >> good morning. sarah caldwell checking on your morning commute. right now things are running smoothly in most areas. there is a problem on route 26 in mount airy because of an accident. in terms of problems, we have closures in the city. light street is closed between baltimore and lombard. monument street is closed near patterson park. 61 on southbound 83. problem free all the way down to the beltway. on to the j.f.x., a smooth start. the entire beltway in great shape. here's a quick, live look at traffic. we start on the southwest corner of the beltway. traffic is starting to build at wilkins avenue. running smoothly on the west side. north side traffic checks out just fine at this hour. we have some rain moving in.

take an umbrella with you and give yourself a little extra time. you can see a piece of energy driving out of virginia. there is a series of fronts that have stacked up to the west. we have a trough in maryland's right now. the front is back in ohio triggering that second line of thunderstorms. there is a slight chance we could see some severe weather bank this afternoon. it is dependent on how much sunshine breaks through. there is a possibility that we could see some severe thunderstorms with wind gusts over 60 miles per hour and a slight chance for a tornado. highly dependent upon what happens during the middle of the day. 76 degrees in pockets filled.

another week down. happy friday. the justice department will not pursue any criminal charges against goldman sachs for allegedly concealing that the bank bat against securities related to the housing market. they determined there was no viable basis to bring criminal prosecution. this goes back to april of 2011. goldman did sell mortgage related securities to its clients while failing to announce that they had bet against the securities. wendy's has been testing out breakfast and they cannot seem to get it right. it still needs to make refinements to their breakfast segment for it to be profitable. on wall street, a futures are a

careful for that degree. 95 at the fort mchenry looks pretty good. -- be careful for that debris. harbor tunnel traffic looks good. you may need a little extra time to prepare for the rain. th is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> howard county police shoot and kill a man while assistant baltimore city police on a search. >> jennifer franciotti has details on the shooting. >> police say this started just after midnight yesterday. they say the suspect broke into his ex-girlfriend's home in baltimore city. she woke up with a gun to her head. >> he awoke her while she was sleeping by putting a gun to her head and saying she was going to die. he assaulted her repeatedly. she was able to escape and call

911. baltimore city police responded. >> this prospect had taken off with their child. police were led to a residence in columbia. police executed a search warrant. >> officers arrived here and there were confronted by the suspect in the back of the house outside and ask him to show his hands. they knew he had a weapon overnight and had just assaulted the woman. the suspect was shot in the confrontation. >> police have not released details of the shooting. the shooting is still under investigation. he was pronounced dead at a local hospital. people were surprised by the whole yvette. >> having a shooting in a neighborhood is not something you expect to happen. not here in howard county. >> police have learned that the child was not at the columbia

location at the time of the shooting. the child has been located safe with family members. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> the death of the person whose remains were found in pasadena is ruled a homicide. someone found the remains of a female along ritchie highway. the victim suffered trauma to the upper body. police say a man's personal item helped link him to a string burglaries in anne arundel county. he broke into 17 businesses. detectives say cooper left his cell phone at the fairgrounds which put police on his trail. he broke into the ice shack, where he was caught on police video.

my olympic adventures have come to an end. what an exciting two weeks it has been pared the journey began with a splash. my next adventure took me to the trampoline were felt like a kid again. i got a great workout. then i was back in the pool trying my best to keep up with water polo. my toughest was put to the test in taekwondo and manage to break a board with my bare hand. but the start of week two, my biggest hurdle yet. i narrowly escaped track and field without injury. >> oh! >> the following day, i was at the mercy at the win, navigating

a sailboat in the harbor. next came fencing. it is ok and encourage to hit people with swords. my final adventure, i struggled to hit the birdie on the badminton court. eight olympic adventures with some laughs, a few false, and experiences to last a lifetime. >> i know we made fun of you. you deserve it. what was your favorite one? which sport did you have the most fun doing? >> each one was so unique and that so many great people. there were so great and it was a humbling experience. >> you appreciate how great the olympic athletes are after you try them yourselves.

the night ended quickly with the royals jumping on wei-yin chen. manny machado made his major- league debut. he called his mother yesterday and said to get a flight to baltimore. alex gordon letd off the game with a home run. machado groundout in his first at bat. then a shot to right. he is flying. his first major-league hit is a triple. he also reached on an infield single. orioles lose 8-2 and dropped a game to the yankees. the series continues tonight. the ravens started out the same way as the orioles. the falcons scored two touchdowns early.
