smoothly. no signs of a beginning of a delay. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> the man accused of killing phylicia barnes is set to go on trial today. kim dacey is live with a preview. good morning. >> michael johnson is the ex- boyfriend of phylicia's sister. she was staying in baltimore when she disappeared in december of 2010. months later her body was found in the susquehanna river. an autopsy determined she died of asphyxiation. prosecutors say johnson killed phylicia and then used a gallon tub to move the body. johnson pleaded not guilty to the charge. phylicia's family members

. >> members of the late sikh temple in wisconsin wash away bad memories of a shooting last week with a cleansing ceremony. this was the first time many worshipers return to the temple after a gunman opened fire killing one man and five women. gabrielle giffords is back home 19 months after she was shot in the head in tucson. she and her husband purchased a new home in june. she has been undergoing intensive rehabilitation. the shooting happened in january, 2011. as others were killed. jared lee loughner pleaded guilty -- six others were

66 at rising sun. the dew points -- upper 50's and low 60's. it is a little more humid south and east of baltimore. a very comfortable start for us this morning. a few high, thin clouds on the satellite. a beautiful crescent moon. that is venus below the crescent moon. there is a system coming at us from the west that is producing some showers and thunderstorms east of st. louis and moving into indiana. there are a series of systems that will come through during the middle of the week. this will zip over towards the east and the clouds will thicken up and we will have a chance for rain tomorrow. a mixture of sun and clouds. mostly sunny.

trial is scheduled to begin today. michael johnson pleaded not guilty to the charges. kim dacey is live downtown with a preview. >> michael johnson is phylicia johnson's sister's ex-boyfriend. they are anxious to see him brought to justice. phylicia barnes men missing in december of 2010 while she was visiting her sister in baltimore. her body was found months later floating in the susquehanna river. the cause of death was ruled association. johnson was charged with first- degree murder in the case. >> i would hope that he would do the right thing. if it was him, tell the truth. tell the truth and give phylicia's family some type of closure. >> johnson pleaded not guilty to the charge.

prosecutors say johnson killed phylicia and then used a 35- gallon tub to move the body. >> justice prevailed pretty much right now. we are glad that the state's attorney bring charges to michael johnson. >> defense lawyers believe prosecutors rush to judgment. >> there is absolutely no physical evidence to, in my opinion, that corroborates that. the bone was intact. the larnyx was intact. there was no indications of trauma or injury to the physical person. therefore it was pretty much just a ruled-out circumstance. i think it would've probably would have been more appropriate to be an undetermined. >> the trial is set to to begin at 11:00 a.m. this morning. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> two man were shot in
