the next one is tonight here downtown. the public service commission got an earful in annapolis last night. 21 b.g.e. customers vented their frustrations about being left in the dark, some for more than a week afr the derecho storm in june. the psc says the input gathered at these hearings will allow them to determine if there are any problems or patterns in b.g.e.'s response. >> we had flashlights. i did not use candles because i was scared they might cause a fire. so i used flashlights. and fans -- we didn't use any fans because we didn't have no electricity. >> we're not so arrogant as to think that we're going to dismiss customers' concerns. we are here. we want to hear those concerns. >> the next meeting is it tonight. there is one on one state in ellicott city. another meeting in towson. all these meetings begin at 7:00 p.m..

jane king has the bloomberg business report. >> good morning. is your credit card bill bigger? americans are carrying more credit card debt compared to a year ago. the rate of late payments is there an 18-year low. people are becoming more willing to take on new debt. in the three years since the great recession ended, the institute for women's policy research said women have regained 39% of jobs they lost but men have gotten back 45% of the jobs. the july retail sales report is out. the be closed yesterday after a slowdown on japan's economy. the bloomberg maryland index was down. "the hunger games" raked in more than 540$400 million.

trailer and clean up the leaking fuel and the enormous amount of debris. the driver of the truck continues to recover. a boy kids teased to recover after being struck by the family car in joppa. this was the scene just after 5:00 p.m. last night on pulaski highway. a family member was behind the wheel when the young boy was struck. the child was flown to johns hopkins trauma center but is expected to recover. >> a man is injured following a police shooting. officers arrived on monday to find a man with a gun and ordered him to drop the weapon. that is when darryl williams pointed a gun at police force and offices to shoot back. both men were taken to the hospital. the second man was treated for head injuries. >> want to know how your
