economy. tonight, a harford county sheriff's deputy says he was forced to shoot eight people in edgewood. -- shoot a pit bull in edgewood. police say the dog charged with the deputy. the deputy shot and killed the dog. the second dog was found and returned to the owner. the incident is now under investigation. this comes as state legislators fail to come to an agreement on how to overturn a ruling by maryland's highest court bulls as tipplepit inherently dangerous. >> if the ruling stands, animal shelters expect to see an influx of pit bulls surrendered. this is one of a number of for adoption. the 5-year-old has been waiting for months to find a home could

exposure. health officials in new hampshire say that 32 same strain of hepatitis c as former traveling medical technician david kukowski. state health officials are working closely with area hospitals. >> to try to make sure that the four hospitals that we know this health care worker work back in maryland i the only facilities that he worked at in maryland. so we have been working with the other hospitals in maryland and other health-care centers to make sure that there is not somewhere else. >> he worked at four maryland hospitals from may 2008 until march 2010. he told investigators that he found out that he had hepatitis c in may. but authorities say that he had evidence -- that they have evidence that he was diagnosed as early as 2010. so far, one person has tested

positive for hepatitis c. but it is not certain if the person contracted it at the hospital or somewhere else. they have tested 441 potential victims so far and sent notification letters to 1566. maryland general hospital has recommended 23 people for testing and officials at the baltimore va hospital have recommended 51 so far and are working to contact another 17. >> there are surely lessons for all of us in this investigation, including what is being learned in new hampshire and in particular. we need to learn to see what we can do to try to prevent that kind of thing from happening. >> he was accused of drugse and fired twice from hospitals outside of maryland pear he would have required a license to work here. so the state is investigating possible licensing issues. >> thousands of high school
