léopold. the aclu believes the republican was snooping around county databases for information on his enemies. >> it has information that at least 16 people were targeted. some of them are former county employees and political opponents. the aclu of maryland is requesting anne arundel county police for cover documents that the group believes will show john léopold ordered officers to illegally access a local criminal history data base and dig up dirt on his personal or political enemies. >> we're trying to find out, what information was compiled, and about whom. >> this follows a response from another aclu request that shows criminal history searches were conducted on many of the same individuals using state and

federal databases. >> they are forcing us to keep on expanding the number of people we represent and forcing us to try to guess who the victims were. it is wrong. >> police would not comment specifically on this request, only to say, "this police department is a transparent agency." john léopold's office gave a similar statement. in illegal payoffs over $100,000. and to live in the county officer who was held liable for harassment and other allegations reimburse the county's settlement and legal fees. >> should the taxpayers pay for

the bad acts of employees? >> léopold is awaiting trial on criminal misconduct charges. he is the focus of the harassment suit against the county. >> the doubly hit and run crash reported in baltimore county, around 8:00, a person was killed after being hit by a vehicle near old eastern avenue. police were not able to fill us in on the description of the vehicle. we know the identity of the remains discovered in the woods in pasadena earlier this month. it was 20-year-old jessica lee. was reported missing back in the may. the remains in a wooded area off of 40 highway. no word on a possible cause. a man was arrested after police say he robbed a bank.

police say on man went into the store, handed the teller a note, and demanded cash. officers worked to take the suspect down. we can tell you that the cash was being taken out of the vehicle. police have not read -- released the identity of the suspect. baltimore city police say a scam artist is on the loose taking advantage of the elderly. a female is calling the victim and impersonating a city tax officials and informing the resident that someone will, to their home to collect outstanding tax payments. anyone with information should contact the special investigation section check and fraud unit. one of baltimore county's newly installed speed cameras has been vandalized.

police say some time last night, the lens of the camera was be printed red. crews are able to clean up the mess. there have been a number of cameras damaged recently, but it is not one of their top concerns. >> the camera was never inoperable. in all these cases involving vandalism of the cameras, we get them back on line pretty quickly. >> as far as to pays for the damage, officials say the vendor picks up the bill for all repairs. residents are outraged over changes to parking in their neighborhood. they're concerned that the new layout may endanger schoolchildren. >> reverse angle parking is the city's solution to help alleviate the lack of parking in the area. some residents feel otherwise.

forecast with tom tasselmyer -- >> we are having some across the summer weather on the eastern shore. a lot of lightning. it is stretching from southern cecil county across the eastern shore. that is where the bulk of the activity is as far as thunderstorms. those lightning strikes are accompanied by heavy downpours. all that moving east and north east. the worst of the weather so far this evening has been on the shore. now watches, warnings, or advisories in effect right now. heavy showers out near hagerstown. they kicked up again crossing the bay on to the eastern shore. here in baltimore, you can see that little dry spots around the inner harbor.
