continued to the end of the month and telling members to get the health care they need and three months of prescriptions. they plan to work on a contract with a liquidation company to purchase the plant for $72 million. the union wants to help find a new company to take over. >> my ultima goal is to find a strategic steelmaker to by the plan and start back over with the same kinds of contracts that we had in the past. >> reaction to that proposal is not so optimistic. >> all i am getting is a bunch of lip service like i have been getting for the past three months. they want to extend it six more months while we have no benefits, nothing. >> that was the former union -- that was a former employee. the union president thinks it could take up to six months to come in and operate sparrow's point. >> crews are on the scene of a gas leak in baltimore county.

crews repairing bases were drained around 10:00 a.m. this morning when they struck a two- inch natural gas line. bge sealed off the area. a baltimore county teen has succumbed to his injuries after falling from a catwalk. he and a friend were at the catwalk just before 4:00 p.m. yesterday. the catwalk collapsed and the friend was able to hang on and called for help but no word whether or on the property. >> detectives are investigating the stabbing that happened around 6:20 a.m.. the crime scene is four blocks long. david collins is joining us.

why is the crime scene so large? >> the crime scene covered such a large area because whoever is responsible left a blood trail. around 6:20 a.m., police responded to a call of the injured subsesuspect. >> they found a young male in the basement. he appeared to be stamped. he worked at east point mall. according to his brother, he was stabbed several times in the neck. language is an issue. detectives flinn in spanish are assisting. green evidence tags marked a blood trail. police declined to discuss whether it belongs to the person or persons responsible. the trial goes for blocks. police ran out of evidence

into august after comments from the ceo against gay marriage. it resulted in michael huckabee declaring a well received chick- fil-a appreciation day and a kiss-in day by gay-rights groups. >> the head of the company is allowed to have an opinion. i do not think that should resonate to the company is self. >> they started this on-line petition to change.org calling for the arrest a to remove the chick-fil-a from a student building. >> i am still customer. i can understand the position especially at a place such as the campus. people are very active. >> they said they would keep eating at the restaurant. >> whether or not the ceo or the company believe something does that change the fact that food tastes good. i believe in everyone's right to petition and boycott.

with it. we can see the lightning strikes better and a few of them popping up. down in parts of montgomery. is not severe storms. these are producing some gusty wind and some rain. we will be dealing with them for a couple of hours in baltimore and over to the eastern shore. the threat of showers will not be lingering around much past that. total precipitation is not bad. we're not talking flooding rain. where the showers have moved through and a few pockets of rain, we're talking a couple of tenths of an inch. the rain has been a lot lighter. officially, not enough to measure just yet. a few traces since midnight.

the high-temperature today was cooler than normal because of the cloudiness and the showers in the area. we only get 80 degrees. 105 the record high in 1983. the hottest it has been this late in the year. a lot cooler than that tonight in western maryland. only in the 60's. westminster has cooled to 64. the temperatures will cool a bit as rain showers move through. there's a broad area of low pressure in the upper atmosphere triggering the showers but gradually, high-pressure near the surface will be from the west. temperatures will stay below normal. 58 tonight, 68 downtown. showers ending before midnight and partly cloudy. some fog may form. it may help to produce some overnight fog. partly cloudy tomorrow and a slight 20% chance of a storm in

the afternoon. a cooler than normal tuesday. winds on the bay are light. a fall-like feel. barely 70 tomorrow. temperatures in the 60's. the eastern shore not quite that close but below normal and the lingering chance for shower tomorrow. at ocean city, the chance of a shower or afternoon storm at 20% for tuesday and wednesday. in the atlantic accord and is about out of sight heading toward europe and weakening because it went to the azores as a hurricane. the southbound hurricane -- the hurricane center is keeping an eye on this. that could become the next couple storm. the next name on the list is isaac. also closer to home, a cluster of showers in the gulf of mexico that also bears watching. a slight chance of a shower and partly cloudy skies for wednesday through friday. highs in the low 80's.

the weekend looks good with highs in the mid-80's. >> from the susquehanna bank sports center, this is 11 sports. >> with you from the ravens performance center in owings mills where they were able to beat the rain today. they got their work done on the practice field before the nasty, dark clouds have blown in. they're done for the day. the of beat the rain. the next challenge becomes stop beating themselves in the red zone. that is what it will focus on thursday night against the jacksonville jaguars. on defense, carroll williams turning down a reported offering of three years and $15 million. he will finish out the year in his contract and he is that confidence in his play at the starting -- as the starting quarterback. focus is their farga last game experience.

joe flacco wants to see the offense work on finishing drives with touchdowns. the ravens got into the scoring zone four times and wound up with only four field goals. >> i think the biggest thing i can look at in the last couple of games, especially the last game is finishing off for us, getting down to the red zone. if he wants to score points and run away with a couple of games here and there when you're getting the chance to give them often, i think that is one thing. when we get down there is this week -- down there this week. >> it is a short week because they will kick off their preseason game thursday night against the jacksonville jaguars and we will bring you a full coverage of that with our simulcast. pregame coverage begins at 7:00 p.m. and as the kick off roads around -- rolls around, we will
