mental health evaluation and they found what he took to school yesterday was a bottle of vodka. he drank a little bit of it but he did not seem to be in tared -- impaired. for more on the background, we go to david collins. >> we spoke to family members by phone and they are just as surprised and puzzled as anyone. we have reached his grandmother. she describes him as a good boy, not a delinquent and she is curious where police cannot confirm bullying when she claims the school has a record of it. unemotional, that is how a source close to the investigation describes the demeanor of 15-year-old robert gladden since he has been in police custody. his grandmother says he is a good boy who holds a motion in. he was in counseling because of the divorce of his parents can spend the summer being harassed and -- by peers and social

media. he says he has dyslexia and classics -- classmates make fun o f him. his classmatesbserved a quiet loner type who openly expressed his apparent pain. >> he was kind of like one of those quiet kids. he always got picked on but it is because he would do weird stuff like stipple himself in the arm, cut himself and i do not know, he just acted weird. >> cutting is a cry for help. at third sight, photograph your photo hidden from view. they saw no indication he would become violent. >> we're reviewing multiple social media sites. we're trying to reconstruct what was said, moorad -- who knew what and what did what?

have been an easy day. with staff and the help of police and the faith community, they made it through their first day of classes. students showed up with memories of the first day of school. one cut short by the cafeteria shooting. >> i am not really scared because i know the threat is gone. i think today will be more getting back in the gist of going back to school. >> i am a little scared. there will be more security here than -- and everything. it gives you -- that is what administrators were counting on. under the watchful eye of police. close to a dozen counselors from the crisis team were on hand. to help students cope with the tragedy. some parents still had their doubts. >> schweid to come back and i did not want her to come back because i am scared. i said i feel that she wi be

clouds and showers and finishing out nice. high pressure in the region with clearing skies and comfortable temperatures for a couple of days. that line of showers off the coast and out of here. a line of storms in southern virginia heading for north carona. that is the leading edge of the front. we're on the more comfortable side of it. the humidity levels will drop in the next couple days and it should be nice. we have a healthy surplus for the month because of the weekend downpours. we're still 5 inches below normal total precipitation. almost to the 90-degree mark. five degrees warmer than normal. the second day in a row that we had triple digits. 48 was the record low. it will be more comfortable. look to the northwest where the air is coming from.

tubers lo 80's. the next high tide at fort mchenry. this is a category one storm. it should not get stronger because it is about on short now. 30 miles from the mouth of the mississippi river. 100 miles from downtown new orleans. the peak wind gusts at land- based stations, gusts of up to 71 -- 71 miles per hour. you can see some 60 plus mile an hour wind gusts. it is starting to get nasty on the shore. we have had airport a seven-foot storm surge in the eastern part of louisiana said this impact is being felt. it turns into a good news story getting up into arkansas, missouri, and illinois. they have terrible drought conditions and the storm will deliver a good soaking rain. notice the curve into the east.
