scattered thunderstorms will redevelop this afternoon. we could see locally heavy amounts of rain again. we will check the seven-day forecast coming up in just a few minutes. first we say good morning to kim. >> good morning. the major roadways are checking out ok. in baltimore county, route 24 is shutdown in both directions for some debris. there's also some debris in harford county. in the city, a couple of things to talk about. most of the closures from the grand prix oregon. one that remains is on sharp street between pratt and conway street. monument street is closed near patterson park. that is for the road that buckled for the water main break.

this is the beltway north of security boulevard along the west side. things are moving pretty well. this is 95 at 100 in howard county. traffic is moving just fine. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> police have been busy overnight investigating a pair of shootings that sent four people to the hospital. at pratt street, the identities of the people are not known. the second shooting happened just after 9:00 p.m. last night. one of the victims was found on reet.strone st >> a mother is dead following a weekend shooting.

police are calling her death senseless. kim dacey is live in the studio with more on that. >> 22-year-old larelle amos was engaged to be married, has a 1- year-old son, and worked with suntrust bank. police say she was not the intended target of that shooting that killed her. she was leaving a family party around 2:00 sunday morning. she was in the front yard of a home in the 5800 block of the alameda when shots rang out. one struck her in the chest. according to witnesses, the shots came from down the street in the 5700 block of he alameda. police are calling this a senseless death. they and larelle's family are asking for the public's help to track down whoever did this. >> unacceptable. we're not going to rest until this is completed and we have whoever it is or the bodies that's involved. i want them to come forward. if somebody heard something or knew something, speak up.

that is the right thing to do. >> if you have any information, you can contact metro crime stoppers at 1-866-7-lockup. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> police need some help in identifying a driver they said a female. this was north of the hickory bypass and just before 8:00 p.m. the victim was waving her arms when the driver swerved to avoid her. the victim was taken to shock trauma. anyone with information should contact the maryland state police. >> some residents got quite a scare after a suspicious chemical smell forced them to

evacuate their homes. firefighters found some unidentified chemicals in the basement of a home. officials are still trying to determine what those chemicals were. no one was hurt by two nearby homes were evacuated. >> rescue crews will resume their search, looking for a missing boater. a man had been on board a sailing vessel about two miles from shore. the boat tipped, ending them both into the water. one was rescued but the other to not make it back to the boat. he remains missing. police are searching for the man who tried to rob a speedy mart.

the victim was shot twice after being slow to hand over the cash. he has been treated and released from shock trauma. the gunman is an african- american male. anyone with information on the case should call the baltimore county police department. >> little evidence that the streets of downtown baltimore played host to a major grand prix events. attendance was down over 30%, the new organizer says this year's race was more efficient and better managed. >> this was one of the biggest events in downtown baltimore throughout the year. that was our goal.

the fire continues to burn it in california. more than 4,000 acres have been burned. 1000 visitors in that area were evacuated. hollywood is mourning the loss of actor michael clark duncan. he was often cast as a heavy. most knew him for his role in "the green mile." he died after complications of a heart attack. he was 54 years old. >> more than half a million mr. coffee brewers are being recalled. dozens of people have already

>> it is getting a little bit busier on the floor. delegates will arrive to adopt a platform that as many gay- rights activists applauding. people lined up for a chance to spin the wheel and win some swag from this gay rights advocacy group. for john, it is about more than signing up new supporters for the human rights campaign. marriage equality is personal. he has been with his partner, steven, for 31 years. >> he's been looking at me for a long time. longer than me, probably. >> now for the first time, democratic delegates are expected to pass a platform supporting same-sex marriages. >> it is a difference in me feeling that i am a real person and not. >> but in north carolina, it is an uphill battle. voters approved a state ban on same-sex marriages one day before president obama announced his support for marriage equality in may. some religious groups are

gathering for prayer. >> it's clear that god does not approve that lifestyle. >> recent pools show that more -- recent polls show that more than half of americans do approve of same-sex marriage. >> i am hopeful that the president's support and the inclusion of marriage equality in the democratic platform will help us win these marriage initives this fall and in november. >> maryland is one of the states with the ballot initiative coming up this november. republicans are coming from a different perspective appeared their party platform calls for a change defining marriage as between a man and a woman. >> after delegates adopted a platform, what else can we expect to see tonight? >> for you guys, the big drop will be governor o'malley.

>> welcome back to 11 news today. 6:44. three double shootings in baltimore overnight have claimed the lives of the least two people. one person was killed in a double shooting. another person was killed three hours earlier on boone street. there was another double shooting. no word on the condition of those people. police are investigating a possible kidnapping in glen bernie. it happened around 10:30 last night. there are reports of gunfire and injuries.

we'll continue to cover that. some residents got quite a scare last night after they were forced to evacuate their homes because of a suspicious smell. some identified chemicals were found in the basement of a home. officials are trying to determine what the chemicals were. no one was hurt. two homes nearby were evacuated as a safety precaution. >> anemia is a hidden disease in many women. how do you know you are anemic? there are multiple causes but three major reasons why somebody would be anemic. >> they are not making enough red blood cells or they don't

the big thunderstorms are gone. a tremendous amount of moisture in the atmosphere. the dew points are in the low to mid 70's. there will be hit and miss thunderstorms. you can pick up an inch of rain. 75 degrees at the airport. a quick stop in the tropics. this is a tropical storm leslie. we talked about this storm yesterday. a lot of the computer models take a close to the east coast of the united states. we will watch the track of leslie over the next seven to 10 days. a chance for showers this morning. scattered showers this afternoon. high temperatures between 81 and 86. same setup on wednesday. 50% chance for showers.
