-- where he had a conversation with the principal. >> there has been an attitude of getting past what happened. there was a meeting going on at that meeting will take place tonight at the high-school auditorium. we know the board of education and others will get the meeting. it has gone out to have everyone come in and share their views. clearly, it is the school's principal who will have to share about what took place. how the community can hill from situations it has dealt with last monday. i did not see as much as security today. i am sure counselors are available as they were last week. again, it is the principal who will be at center stage tonight. the healing is starting to take

>> the man is rushed to the hospital but does not survive. gunfire claims his life in the lives of three others. along with investigating the murder, police are seeking answers in a dull shooting on that south eaton street. another fatal where the 25-year- old victim died from a wound to the head. >> i heard the glass break and i am standing here. >> use those -- she shows how she was trying to lock the door. she was barely missed. many shots were fired at the intersection. >> after i heard a number of people screaming, i assumed one plus one equals two. >> the girl, with meat on the sidewalk, utensils cost to the ground as people began to flee.

a 19 year-old man is dead. two other people are recovering after being hit by cars as they try to get away from the bullets. she says she knew the young man was killed. >> i do not know why somebody would do this. >> another friend decided to start and a memorial. he does not understand the violence. >> be careful wherever you go. you are still in baltimore city. they're trying to keep the crime down. i do not know. some people do not get it. >> after some -- police say that the homicide and criminal investigations are working jointly and there will be an increased presence of police officers in the east, southeast, and northeast sections of baltimore.

>> muggy weather is generating the storms and showers. the pattern will hold for another couple of days. a shower has popped up out of anne arundel county. that will strike through the downtown baltimore area in the next 30 minutes on its way to the north. there are other shadows around -- showers around. in southern pennsylvania, some lightning strikes there. also in the eastern part of the northern delaware, those locations not a direct threat to baltimore but we will see showers throughout the evening and probably during the overnight. most of this week we will have to contend with warm conditions. you can check the complete forecast coming up in a few minutes. >> opening night in north

morning. police say 10 people were shot starting around 11 o'clock 45 yesterday morning. -- 11:45 yesterday morning. at this hour, details are sketchy but we know what happened on fifth avenue just after 10:30 sunday. officers were called to the scene around that time to investigate the shooting and that is when they found the man inside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. he was taken to shock trauma. martin o'malley takes the national spotlight tonight. the governor is among the headliners opening the convention. he and the delegation are gearing up for the convention in north carolina and you can catch the speech tonight at 10:00 right here on wbal tv 11.

it has been holding together well. no lightning but there are some strikes around philadelphia, an indication of the instability. we might see a thunderstorms across central maryland during the evening. so far, a trace of precipitation. we have had about a third of an inch. there have been areas in and around the region that have had 2.5 inches of rain. this is not necessarily indicative of the region. it is just this location. for the year, we are 5.5 inches below normal. the high today almost to the 90 mark. 89 at the airport. the average is 82. 90 right now in downtown baltimore. the eastern shore. it is a very muddy out there. it will stay warm overnight.

the potential for a scattered showers through the night at any time and a little patchy fog will likely form during the overnight hours. tropical moisture into the mid- atlantic and it is slow to get out of here. we will hoping we can kick some of this stuff out of here. it will take a couple of days for the front to get here and it will enhance their chances for showers and storms. winded 5-10. on the day tomorrow, keep an eye on the sky. the wind will be brisk out of the south, especially during the first part of the day. the western maryland mountains, a chance for a shower on tuesday and wednesday. highs within a couple of degrees of 80. on the eastern shore, near 90 degrees. and down on the eastern shore, including ocean city, high temperatures in the 80's. a couple of systems to watch.

the biggest one is leslie which will become a hurricane toward hamilton, bermuda by sunday afternoon with 100 mile an hour winds. that is a threat to bermuda. right now it is a tropical storm at 3 miles an hour but expected to accelerate. and tropical storm michael form today and it will not get near any major land areas. the seven day forecast, temperatures are warm. the humidity levels stay high, around 90. some thunderstorms. the weekend is warm with showers and grievance football returns next monday. -- ravens football returns next monday. >> skyrocketing food prices have officials with three agencies urging leaders to take coordinated action. the concern is we are headed

toward a catastrophe akin to that of 2007. coble alarm has escalated as droughts in the u.s. have sent grain prices to record highs. now the agencies are demanding that leaders tackled the immediate issue of high prices as well as the long-term issue of how food is produced and consumed. officials say the wait for september's report before deciding to take action on the issue. if you want to save some money and still get fresh produce from near farmers' market, we have some tips from you. you need to go early. that is when you will find the best selection, which is important if you want something in season. if you go toward the end of the day, that is when farmers give discounts. the more often you buy from a farmer, the better your chances of getting the deal. >> i think you get a better deal here than at a supermarket.
