punishable by a $1,000 fine. he >> you can see the first pictures from this -- from the scene had a vote whether u.s. support having metal detectors in schools. >> a stolen car investigation led to a police-involved shooting in baltimore county. we are told the incident started around 11:31 and officer spotted a stolen vehicle. when the officer approached, the driver took off toward the officer, forcing him to open fire. police track down the car and the suspect. the suspect is being treated for a gunshot wound to the upper body and is expected to survive. the officer has been placed on routine administrative leave. a 14-year-old accused of shooting a student on -- at perry hall high school could be released on bail tomorrow.

he is set to appear in the baltimore county circuit court. officials postponed a previous hearing. he faces 29 criminal counts back. if granted bail, that does not necessarily mean he will return to school. the policy on firearms calls for a one-year expulsion for any student found with a weapon. >> for the first time in more than three decades, u.s. ambassador has been killed in an attack on an american embassy. the assault came on the second day of protests in cairo's and there are concerns it could be tied to the september 11 anniversary. we began in cairo. >> demonstrators rose up, there are agitated and infuriated that an internet video had been posted online, even though it

has been online for some line -- for some time, ridiculing the prophet mohammad. those demonstrators scale the wall and pulled down a flight. it did not hurt anyone inside. the more we learn about it, the less like that it seems. it was a commando-style raid where militants who may have been angry about this same video clearly moved in with a military style tactic. they had rpgs and machine guns. that is the kind of thing carried out by a militant group or al qaeda. officials are looking into that right now. was it just a coincidence that the u.s. ambassador happened to be in benghazi at time of the

attack. it is clear now that these were to a very different instances, a spontaneous uprising that resulted in no casualties in cairo and the guerrilla assault in benghazi that killed the u.s. ambassador. >> u.s. lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are condemning the attacks, vowing to bring justice to those involved in the killing. a group of marines has been deployed to libya. our reporter joins us now from washington. how is this situation playing out among the different parties when it comes to the presidential campaign? >> net romney inserted himself into this situation by issuing a statement last night here. he spoke about it today at a campaign event. process of checking for the individual responsible for this event. >> it was two years ago when and 83-year-old woman in anne arundel county was raped. tonight, they're trying to figure out if the man behind the attack struck again. police say 70-year-old woman was getting dressed in her home in the 100 block of country club drive when a man burst into her room. the man ran off and was not hurt. but the incident may be linked to the incident from 2010. an elderly woman living in the same block of that street was attacked late at night by a man covering his face with a scarf. he was described as having a large build and police say he was never found. detectives are confirming they are actively investigating a

>> we want to go back to the breaking news we told you about. we have confirmed a shooting at morgan state university. a campus alert was sent out by school officials. baltimore city police say a male was shot in the stomach. next are transporting the victim to the hospital. we're going right now to capt. retailer to see what more he might know about this. >> all we know is he was shot once in the chest. he is conscious and breathing and was transported by medics to one of the trauma centers. he was alive upon leaving this

location. city police have a description of the suspect and they have a name. we're listening to a scenario where they may end up trying to check out a possible residents or the suspect lives. >> we can stayed with the scene for just a second. they were found between the student center and a theater. police say they received a call around 4:50. when we get more details, we will bring them to leave. >> detectives in prince george's county say they are investigating the death of a high-school junior. he was gunned down while walking to school yesterday morning just before 7:00 in district heights. police say the 18-year-old was a student at central high school but his family recently moved

from anne arundel county. they're looking for witnesses. police right now have no witnesses or motive. the mother said her son has had a problem with bullying and has filed complaints with the school board. >> the speed cameras that line the streets around the town of turned out to the rainmaker for the city's treasury. you won't hear anyone at city hall apologizing. the city is spending $4 million of the camera revenue on them. >> nobody likes getting now and by the cameras. but city officials say they are doing exactly what they are designed to do. there are nearly seven dozen speed carries around the city and they're producing outsize

a coating of snow on pikes peak in colorado. it is starting to snow in the mountains. clear skies tonight and sunny skies tomorrow. subtle changes with the front coming in bringing a chance of a thunderstorm into the mountains. that starts to dry up with spotty showers along the front as it moves into the mountains friday night. the good news is it keeps moving that by saturday, the skies are clearing. 79 to 84 tomorrow. it will be just a little bit above normal thanks to the southeast breeze. light winds and low waves tomorrow. a sunny day on thursday with a chance for a thunderstorm on friday afternoon. the eastern shore locations will see a little bit more humid tomorrow.

look out for the lot and a production code on your screen. the maryland department of health and mental hygiene is advising you not to eat it and avoid anything that has come into contact with the cheese. the illness is treatable with antibiotics. the last mile virus has been fairly prevalent this year and now we are getting a good look at part numbers. the state reports that so far, it has seen 25 official cases, including two deaths and it is widespread, affecting 13 counties. only adults have been infected as far as we know. the number will continue to rise through october but it appears the onus has peaked. to prevent catching it, use bug repellent and cover your arms and legs and get rid of standing water around your yard. not a new food item --

seemed to be somewhat stable condition upon leaving here. they are not sure if he might have run into one of the rooms. we have seen a couple of officers coincide with bunkers to protect themselves. we are looking to see if the suspect is on campus. they do know the suspect name and they do have a good description of him. they have an excellent direction of travel after the incident took place. if you are trying to get to morgan state, please be aware that they have blocked off some of the road. they want to make sure the individual does not leave campus if he is still on campus. there seems to be a lot of activity going on and campus and city police are on the scene. >> thank you.

we do know at this point there was a single shooter involved. we still have not been able to confirm whether the male who was shot was a student. that has not been confirmed. the victim has been taken to the hospital. the campus is on walked down and many messages from people on twittered. it was a lot of misinformation early in the story. it was breaking there was a stabbing that happened. it was most definitely a shooting. the person has been taken to hospital. >> as we get more information, we will pass it along. it was a grand opening of the maryland casino. areas under construction were opened, clearing the way for more slots. but it was all smiles from those who had to drive around the facility. >> let's go live now to the

casino for more. i heard it took you two hours to get there. >> it did. major traffic. talk about this grant reopening. we're standing here in front of one of the areas that was reopened, the main entrance to the casino. they used to go to the side but now they're going to this beautiful main entrance. but because of the reopening and a special promotion they issued a over e-mail, it jammed that traffic all over the area. a huge event and that presented problems for gamblers inside the casino. >> we had the ravens of victory and we had the orioles in first place and now maryland lies. it doesn't get any better. >> a lot of excitement as maryland live is now a fully functioning casino entertainment complex. more than a thousand new slot machines were put into place

>> here is a look at some of our other top stories. a 13-year-old boy has been charged as a juvenile for carrying a gun into the middle school on tuesday. but officials are still wondering how he is able to maintain the gun and the first place. the boy said the weapons belonged to his grandfather and that was already loaded. the grandfather says it was already not -- said it was not. he's charged with the misdemeanor, accused of not properly storing a loaded gun. ambassador and three other officials died last night in a fiery attack by militant mob at the consulate in benghazi, libya. this was the same day another protest broke out in egypt over a movie that mocked his long pause profit.

>> we hope you will stay with us for all of the late breaking developments at morgan state university. we will continue to bring you the latest on that situation. another danger is roadway in las vegas -- heavy rains turned the streets into virtual reversed on tuesday. this is what it looked like at that middle of a busy intersection. helicopter crews and firefighters had to rescue more than 20 people because of the rising flood waters. the flood water for several feet high in some areas. power was knocked out to thousands of customers for nearly two hours. >> fast-moving thunderstorms dropped heavy rain in utah on tuesday, causing a breach in the retention basins. within moments, floodwaters tore through a dike that holds back a retention pond, sending a surge of water into santa clara. many residents did not even have time to evacuate ahead of the
