baltimore bummer. >> the ravens are 5-1 on the year but will play the rest of the schedule without two of their biggest players. one of them is the face of the franchise. ray lewis and lardarius webb are sidelined with injuries. sheldon dutes has more on the crushing blow to fans. we began with gerry sandusky who joins us in the studio lot on how this affects the team. >> i would say in a word, significantly. they know they cannot replace ray lewis. they have to, but they know they cannot. they can replace the position, but not his leadership and knowledge. he tore his tricep muscle on his right arm. the same with lardarius webb, he tore a ligament in his neat. who picks up the leadership?

they are accused in the videotaped beating of student john mckenna in march 2010. mckenna was celebrating the terrapins basketball win. jurors heard from nathan coal and got to see video he shot with his cellphone. >> i lost sleep over it. sicken me to see an innocent kid like that get beat with that amount of severity, to the point where there were pools of blood. >> mckenna told jurors he remembers getting hit with a police shield and being put in a paddy wagon. the trial is expected to last a week. we are following a developing story of a baltimore city, where police are investigating the shooting of a teenager. police said 15-year-old male was found suffering a gunshot wound to his leg just after 7:00 close to john hopkins hospital. investigators say the injury is not considered life-threatening.

there is no word on a motive or an arrest in this case. >> of commerce city police believe they have a break in the murder of a federal researcher. investigators revealed crime camera footage in the hope of singling out to young men who may be able to shed some light on the death of dr. peter marvit. kerry cavanaugh has the latest. >> tonight police showed surveillance that shows two young men in same area where dr. peter marvit was gunned down last month. they are hopeful it will help break the case. the surveillance photos to men's sprinting down chesterfield avenue on september 17. according to police, this was the only sign of life on the street as dr. peter marvit lay dying. >> we are calling them persons of interest right now. >> investigators believe the men could help unravel what happened to marvit, a federal researcher

who was shot as he came home from choir practice. >> they are identified as light skinned black males pop, possibly in their late teens. if you have any information about them, if they look familiar to you, please contact homicide detectives. >> walters city councilman bob scott represents the district and says the murder is feeling outrage among residents. >> he says his constituents are staging community patrols, but he admits that the murder may sour some on city living. >> things like this scare people off. it impact the tax base because it makes that never consider where they are living. >> police are considering at their that marvit was mistaken for a food delivery driver because he was carrying bags as he stepped out of his car. councilman scott is hoping this picture will encourage someone to identify these men to help fill in gaps.

rain over the past hour but that is all clearing offshore. this is that the cold front continues to make its way of the east coast. there are just a few sprinkles left over in garrett county. over all this is a drying pattern as we see the cold front continue to move offshore. let's look at how much rain we did see across the area. we can see that most of the rain came in from the west to the east and in a southwesterly fashion. the shadings of blue show that we had about a half-inch of rain widespread across central maryland and down at the eastern shore. notice the green spots out there, that is the heavier rain. some places did see close to an inch of rain. your house met seen a little bit more rain. looking at the radar right now, we continue to see the rain push offshore. some strong storms along the outer banks of north carolina.

fortunately that is now all heading off to the east. high pressure will build and on the backside of this storm system. there is the potential to bring some more rain back into the area. looking at the temperature right now, 62 degrees downtown baltimore, 56 at b.w.i. thurgood marshall airport. we will be colder tonight, 53 downtown but 40's out in the suburbs. expect the rain to clear out and the skies will clear out as well, bringing some sunshine tomorrow. it will be cooler than what we saw today thanks to the high- pressure system building in. a lot of sunshine across the center part of the state. 53 for the high temperature in the mountains. that takes us into the seven-day forecast. 68 degrees as we go into

today for a defensive linemen heloti nata. the ravens will see how his knee responds to treatment this week and if he can practice before deciding on if or how much he will play this coming sunday on the road against houston. november is the target terrell suggs has had for his return after suffering an achilles' tendon repair. he has been on the physically unable to perform list. in theory, he could begin practicing with the team this week. the ravens plan to continue to take a cautious approach with his rehab. the time to consider that has started to get little closer. >> we have not decided that yet.
