the conflict has been called "catastrophic." >> the search is on for the man police say shot and killed another man in a bar. daryl anderson opened fire on a man on july 8th. gamble suffered multiple gunshot wounds and later died. anderson is 185 pounds with a muscular build and multiple tattoos. if you have any informations, please call baltimore county police. the most serious charges have been thrown out of the case of the two police officers on trial for beating a university of maryland student. a judge dismissed first-degree assault charges against the two.

prosecutors say abuse their power back in 2010. the student has been celebrating -- had been celebrating a basketball win at the time. police say they were trying to control a riot. the officers face charges of second-degree assault and misconduct while in office. a local church is the subject of a lawsuit. three women claim sovereign brace ministries is part of a decades old child sex abuse and cover of scandal. they claim began back in 1980's. sovran -- sovereign grace ministries has several branches. no word on which branches are accused in the lawsuit. >> yesterday was nice and so far today is pretty nice too. we have had a few scattered clouds, but very comfortable

the full council still has to confirm his nomination. baltimore county students will notice something new in schools today, hand-held metal detectors. a new policy goes into effect today that allows police officers posted in the school to scan the students any time. this comes as a result of a number of weapons related incidents this year. the county police chief says his school based officers know what to look for. >> when an individual is carrying a weapon, they carry themselves differently. they hold their beltline differently. they will be constantly touching the object itself. officers are trained at a very young age in the police academy to look for these clues and behavior's. >> police say even with hand- held detectors they will rely on students to speak up when they believe classmates are carrying weapons. still ahead, a brawl caught on

>> covering the nation, five officers are out of a job after a video surfaced of them in a fight. they were at a tucson bar when they got in a brawl with some patrons outside. the video shows the man repeatedly punching a man in the head. during the investigation, police learned four people were attacked, including a teenager. all five are charged with aggravated assault and two are charged with hindering prosecution for trying to cover up the incident. a small fire was fuelled by strong winds and quickly spread to neighboring buildings in this tiny town outside idaho falls. the building will be torn down with no plans to rebuild. the town had only two full-time residence while 100 any five hile 175 peoplewel

quakes in consumer alert, a report is released on the economic impact of this year's star spangled celebration. it brought in $166 million. it took place july 13th-19th and drew an estimated 150 four million people, 28% of them from outside the state. the research was conducted by forward analytics whose clients include festivals throughout the united states. yesterday, we reported that home builder confidence had hit a six year high. it seems home building is catching up as well. on construction hit a four year high last month, up a whopping 15% from august.

temperatures are very nice. inperatures in the 50's out far western maryland. a few more clouds. elevation has to do with that too. all in all, a fairly mild temperatures. here is the satellite picture. heavier clouds out west. this is the actual front itself. it is connected to a storm in the great lakes and minnesota. it is quite windy on the plains states right now. there is some cold air being drawn into this. it is a vigorous storm. by the time it gets to our area, it is not all that strong. a little weather disturbance down to the southern portion of this friend. rain chances will increase. it does not look like it will

happen today. the rain is well rest of us -- well west of us right now. it will be this evening when the bulk of this moisture comes up from the south and increases our rain chances. we are in the 60's, 50's out west. some really cold temperatures out in the northern plains and of in canada. there is some colder air being drawn into this. the load itself is going to travel up toward the back and the coldest air will stay to the north of us. our forecast for today, nice for the daylight hours. highs of 67-72. we will start taking a more clouds. by evening, scattered showers and thunderstorms, south wins that could get gusty at times. after midnight, our rain chances will be highest in the overnight
