neighbors and good community. supposedly it's a very safe, family family area. >> but early wednesday morning, police were called for two separate robberies and of the actions in that area. police say the first happened near charles street. a 41-year-old woman was getting out of a car when she was approached by three male suspects. >> they approached her at gunpoint, forced her into a vehicle and drove her to an atm where she withdrew an undisclosed amount of currency. >> they released her unharmed, but 10 minutes later, in the 5500 block, the same suspects targeted a 19-year-old man riding a bike. >> they struck this man with a car. they then went off to him with the guise of making sure he was ok. at that point, they forced him into the vehicle and asked if he had an atm card, which he did not. they took some other personal

property from him. >> the suspect released them unharmed. both victims are working with the police and were able to get descriptions of the suspects. a white -- to white male that a black male. there were driving a four-door dodge stratus. >> i can't believe that happen. >> neighbors were shocked to learn what happened. it has frightened them to take extra precautions to make sure they're safe all times of day. >> this is a safe neighborhood but there are people out there who are out to get you. >> this may look like you are out in the country, but it's a city and you have to take precautions. >> police are asking neighbors to be extra vigilant and report anything suspicious. >> we have breaking news right now out of baltimore county where police say a young boy and women have been hit by a car. captain roy taylor is over the

scene with a late breaking details. >> the 700 block of main street near baugh's league. police are still on the scene investigating. we have some video to show you what it looked like when we first arrived. there was a woman and small child in the street being attended to by paramedics. the problem is they have shut down both fast lane northbound and southbound as police investigate the accident. we did see emetic leave and go to the hospital but we do not know the severity of the injuries. >> thank you. tonight, officials at notre, md. are increasing security patrols as police tried to track down a man behind a campus sexual assault. you saw the story first last night at 11:00. police say the victim was leaving the library at 3:00 in the morning when an unknown man attacker. after the assault, she made it

to a hospital for treatment. please to not have a solid description of the suspect that we are told it is a white male with a medium build and facial hair. students are reminded to take advantage of the campus escort. three of the four suspects have been identified after the sexual assault of 213-year old. we're told the boys are between the ages of 13 and 15. they backed up with the boys after a football game that was on a high-school event. they dragged the girls into a wooded area and sexually assaulted them. the girls managed to escape. they were not kingsville students and it's unclear if these attackers workings will students. police in anne arundel say a man tried to abduct a woman using a molotov cocktail. detectives say he broke into a home on the rose avenue and threatened a woman in sight and

then tossed a firebomb onto the bed where she had been line with another man. when no flames went off, he forced the woman out at knifepoint, touching off a massive police search. the two were found in a wood area. woman's injuries are described as non-life-threatening. >> a massive raid this morning in baltimore county busted 10 illegals lots rooms. we brought you this story last month when a state delegate demanded action against the establishment with -- which sometimes call themselves internet cafes or sweepstakes businesses. detectives say they uncovered 10 locations using electronic gaming devices illegally. here is a look at where they are, spread throughout the county. investigators were able to use computer terminals to pay computer games and get cash payouts from their victims. no arrests have been made. >> it only been in place for a couple of months but health advocates say the tax increase

around baltimore, partly cloudy and we will likely see some fog developing after midnight. a like east breeze developing. temperatures cool into the 50s and fog will form. sense that this evening at 6:14. some of the cooler air will come and off the coast and down the coast. the temperatures may back off a little bit but still above normal. a strong cold front as the next weather system to watch, producing rain and snow and wintry cold and the rockies, moving east. it will help kick sand be away or it may draw sandy back into parts of the eastern seaboard over the weekend. that front will be critical to our weather. you can see hurricanes and the of the northeast coast of jamaica. the storm system is getting stronger and better organized. it is a sprawling area of low

pressure with clouds into the central atlantic and 80 mile an hour winds moving north at 14. jamaica getting hit hard right now. tropical storm tony is sitting out there in that atlantic with 50-mile an hour winds, but no threat to any major land area right now. all eyes are on sandy and the cold front approaching from the upper midwest. the official track is solid. looks like it will go through the bahamas and make a bend toward bermuda. it then starts to curve west and that's the problem. the computer models are all in agreement but look at the second turn as it comes back. either late sunday going into monday, we could have this powerful storm moving back toward the mid-atlantic or northeast. there is the center of the storm

sunday afternoon and we will be getting some showers. only one of many models but it shows you the possibilities. watch where the center goes up toward the dollar day. that would not be good news for our area. some very heavy rain at some strong wind. if this computer model is right and it moves into the coast, heavy rain and winds will be possible some time so that i into monday and tuesday next week. then it moves inland and it looks like it will draw some cold air. some higher elevations might see some wet snow or early next week. it's a lot to talk about and it's all coming our way going into monday and tuesday. quiet weather for the next few days. other than some fog, it should be a beauty. when that coming out of the east with a water temperatures in the

>> the campaign surrounding expanding gambling in maryland has set a spending record. a combined $56 million and counting. much of that is being paid to tv stations for advertising for and against advertising on question 7. get another fact check on claims made by the opponents of expanded gambling. >> one of the facts is based on public perception, not fact, hatched from 40 years ago. another is a whopper of the

claim and it's not supported by state budget records. >> politicians of all stripes claim money from a mass of expansive -- massive expense it of gambling will help with the deficit. but that claim is false. based on perception hatched 40 years ago. in 1972, legislators supporting a lottery argued the state could generate $40 million a year for the general fund, not exclusively for education spending. selling points suggested lottery ticket revenue could be used for a variety of things like school construction, a drug rehab and mental health institutions. on november 7, 1972, maryland citizens approved a constitutional amendment establishing a state-run lottery where the proceeds go to the general fund. bill law did not earmark lottery money going for education. early tv lottery drawings never suggested ticket sales support and education funding. early lottery commercials never

attacks in a role in the park. police say a woman was coming home from work, she is forced into a car at gunpoint and made to withdraw money from an atm. three men attacked a man on this bicycle and he did not have a card. police are increasing patrols in the neighborhood and one neighbors to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. campus patrol that notre, of maryland university -- a 19- year-old woman says she was sexually assaulted while leaving the library early monday morning. she was at attacked from behind and we don't have a description of an assailant but they are looking for a white man in his 40's with a medium build and facial hair and he was wearing dark clothing. hartford county officials have found a man dead in a wooded area yesterday. police say a 22-year-old was reported missing last month after he was seen leaving his

an unseasonably warm day. we almost hit the record. 81 degrees officially today. the record high, 82, said it too long ago. we didn't quite make it, so it will end up as an unseasonably warm day. 64 is the average high. 75 at the inner harbor. northern suburbs of los '70s. down on the coast, a bit of a sea breeze on the beach. but far enough inland, it's almost like summertime. 53 to 63 is the temperature spread. the warm air is not going to be around the wreck the entire seven-day forecast. some of this comes in and the cold air in the northern rockies -- these are actual temperatures. 84 degrees in kansas city at

this hour. the front is scheduled to move to our region over the weekend that it going to be interesting to see what happens. this will be moving off the coast saturday, moving toward the coast as this front is approaching. still up in the air as to whether the front will move out into the atlantic. all kinds of possibilities out there right now but that front will make a large impact on the temperatures next week. the center of the storm in the northeast coast of jamaica and expected to cross the eastern part of cuba and get into the bahamas this weekend. most computer models are in agreement that after it makes the first turn, it may turn back to the coast. the european model has it just southeast of cape hatteras trending toward bermuda but that gets pulled back again to the

mid-atlantic coast. if, and it's a big if, if the model is right it will make some very heavy rain and strong, gusty winds off the mid-atlantic coast. then it will draw in some very cold air behind the storm next week. a mild, quiet day tomorrow, sunny to partly cloudy after some morning fog. as we work our way into the weekend at the front approaches, the rain chances start to increase. showers, maybe heavy rain sunday into monday followed by a blast of cold with tuesday's high in the upper 40's. >> we begin tonight's consumer alert with a look at what's going on on wall street following yesterday's huge plunge on the market. stocks closed with slight losses giving up modest gains.

the dow jones down 25 points to finish at just over 13,000. yesterday, the dow jones had one of its worst drops of the year. the nasdaq gave up nine points. the u.s. government is suing bankamerica for a billion dollars. the justice department alleges the bank committed fraud by selling defective mortgages from a program known within the bank as the hustle. the mortgages were purchased by mortgage finance firms, fannie mae and freddie mac. the complaint says of lead to more than a billion dollars of losses for tax payers and countless for closures. the government was started by countrywide financial but continued after it was purchased by bank of america in 2008. bank of america has not yet commented. thousands of people find errors in their credit reports that could prevent them from getting a job or possibly getting a loan. starting this week, there is some help out there.
