magazine and our friend jean cascade. >> nice to see you. >> there's something that happens when you walk into a room. describe what you're talking about, what's executive presence? >> it has to do with how you act, how you speak, and how you present yourself in a room. it's about walking in a room with confidence and credibility. >> is it something you can fake or do you have to naturally have it? >> seems to me i wouldn't want to have to say to myself, i'm going to go in and be this and this if you're not that way. something authentic or something that you learn? >> it can be learned. we did a study and really boiled it down to three things, gravitas, confidence, and appearance. it's about finding the things in the gravitas piece of it, whether you have emotional intelligence or whether or not you can walk into a room and read the room and finding the things that come naturally to you and own them and hone those skills. >> i think people don't understand they have to practice this. even if you are not born with it. if you can get yourself out there, just as you'd practice

giving a talk, having an interview, you practice how you want to present yourself. >> how do you do that? >> in front of my friends or a mirror. the first time i came on this show, i practiced so many different ways to say everything because you knew you had to get the information out quickly, clearly, concisely. it also makes a huge difference in how much you get paid. the american association of university women just did a study. and they found college grads on a very equal footing, women are still earning about 20% less than men. we get paid about 80 cents on the dollar. >> that's amazing to me. >> i know a lot of people with tons of confidence and gravitas and other things and they are running things, but they are not necessarily the smartest one. the one who should be. they just know how to carry themselves, walk into a room. how important is stuff like that, what you wear. how you carry yourself? >> posture. >> i did it for this segment. i don't usually do that. it's not comfortable. >> okay.

>> certain things in appearance. appearance is one of the key things in it. there are things about your appearance that can trip you up. for example, too tight clothing, dressing a little bit too sexily maybe if you're going into a job interview, wearing too much makeup. the study we did, we surveyed 4,000 professional men and women, the number one thing for women in an interview, not wearing a bra. >> who isn't wearing a bra? people still don't wear bras, really? >> undergarments, little things. wearing the right one. >> if it's a bad one it looks like you're not wearing one. >> you need to dress for the job that you want. >> if you're going to hooters, don't wear one. >> if you're going into an interview, google a picture of the person you're interviewing and dress to them. >> that makes sense. >> reading their environment. that you're going into. >> a lot of people don't do that, read the room. >> in terms of your voice. some people are soft spoken and

sick, this is where you need to be more careful than usual. it's a good idea to make the sick person stay in the bedroom for awhile. sort of isolate. they do say you should not share towels, because warm, damp places, cold and flu viruses are going to multiply. wash towels and sheets in hot water with bleach. >> just quickly at the end. this is alcohol-based. this is not like -- antibiotic soaps are not necessarily a good idea. they can contribute to antibiotic resistance. these are mostly made with alcohol. if you don't have access to a sink this is good. they will kill germs. regular soap and water and hand washing. >> jerry won't let us try it. coming up, real truth about healthy foods right about this. hi, everyone. i'm meteorologist kelly cass. we'll look at your forecast as we get the weekend started.

looks like it will be beautiful and very springlike across half of the count with warming temperatures. we have a strong system a cold front moving across the plains along with our winter storm from northern montana all the way down into colorado. the mountains of new mexico as well we have winter storm warnings in effect. we're talking one to two feet of snow in some locations, especially for some of the ski resorts in colorado. there's a look at the temperatures. i mentioned how warm it's going to be out ahead of that front. you'll see 70 in louisville, mid 60s in washington, d.c., 70s in atlanta and dallas. here comes the bitter cold air behind the front. we're looking at 19 for a high in billings, montana. now as we head towards sunday here comes the cold front bringing that chance for some strong thunderstorms. can't rule out the possibility of tornadoes. but for the most part it will be damaging winds, possibly some large hail and frequent lightning in dallas, tulsa, little rock towards kansas city and st. louis and knocking on chicago's door. we've got some football being played sunday night in chicago,

hopefully we'll get through all four quarters without any rain. but it's not going to be likely. it looks like that cold front will be moving in for that. 64 degrees for a high in chicago, 60 degrees in new york city. mild weather. that's what we need in the northeast especially where we still have power outages. here comes the front marching toward the east for the ohio valley, anywhere from cleveland down towards new orleans. we'll have that chance for more thunderstorms out ahead of it the mild weather. behind it you'll notice the big cooldown. chicago's high on monday only 40 degrees. and then by tuesday even across the south we're cooling things down with atlanta's high in the upper 50s and wet weather for the northeast and mid-atlantic coast. well stay with us. we've got more on your forecast, wake up with al on the weather channel 6:00 and 10:00 in the morning eastern time. wooohooo....hahaahahaha!
