natalie morales is in there with a check all the head lines. natalie? >> good morning to you, matt. good morning, everyone. another high-ranking u.s. general is coming under investigation this morning amid the widening fallout from former cia director general david petraeus' resignation. the top u.s. commander in afghanistan general john allen is being investigated for some 20,000 to 30,000 pages of potentially inappropriate e-mails with jill kelly. kelley's initial complaint that she had received harassing e-mails from petraeus' alleged lover paula broadwell set off the initial fbi investigate into the petraeus affair. allen was set to be the next nato commander for europe, a nomination now on hold. meantime, monday night the fbi searched paula broadwell's home in north carolina but did not say what items it removed in its search. investigators on the scene of an explosion that killed two people in an indianapolis neighborhood say a faulty furnace may be to blame. the owners of the home at the suspected epicenter of the blast weren't there at the time.

this as dozens of displaced residents are briefly escorted to their properties to gather what they can from the wreckage. gasoline rationing imposed in new jersey after hurricane sandy ends this morning. governor chris christie says the state's recovery period is over and the rebuilding has begun. however, gas rationing continues in new york city and on long island and tens of thousands of utility customers are still without power there. new york's governor cuomo is seeking $30 billion in federal disaster aid. the voice actor behind beloved "sesame street" elmo is taking a leave of absence from the show. 52-year-old kevin clash is denying that he engaged in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy several years ago. clash acknowledged a relationship with the accuser but said that they were both consenting adults when it happened. shipping giant ups says its charitable arm will no longer donate money to the boy scouts of america because the group discriminates against gays. last year the ups foundation

gave more than $85,000 to the boy scouts, according to its federal tax return. the boy scouts said this summer that the organization was sticking with its policy of excluding openly gay youngsters and adults as members and leaders. families and other groups traveling by air for the holidays may find it harder to sit together. more people will be flying this year, and since last thanksgiving several major airlines have increased the number of coach seats that require an extra fee. all that could mean fewer adjacent seats available when you board. well, if diet soda isn't enough, what about soda that actually claims to reduce fat levels in your body? sound too good to be true? maybe, but pepsi-cola is releasing a fiber-infused drink called pepsi special in japan today containing dextrin, and they claim it can actually fight obesity. in case you're wondering, not pepsi's first unusual beverage to hit the japanese market, they have released yogurt and strawberry and milk-flavored
