life was like working in his office. >> the state has no problem in showing its hand of how plans to present the case. many employees who work in the executive post office worked in fear of losing their jobs if they did not follow orders from leopold. evidence would show leopold abused his power by having police officers to his political dirty work, as well as escort him to sexual rendezvouses with one of his girlfriends. leopold's defense attorney told the court that there are two different interpretations of what is going on in this case. employees did not work in fear, and there is no written protocol when it comes to the executive office's security detail. the first witness called was the most dramatic. it was leopold's personal scheduler. she told the court that she was terrified of leopold from the moment she accepted the position, feeling that she did not have a choice.
