>> barry simms is outside circuit court. >> the judge says he will continue -- considered remorse. robert gladden jr. had to listen about those issues. hours after the gunfire, police interviewed the suspects accused of bringing a shotgun to the campus and shooting in the cafeteria. in the interview, robert gladden jr. said he was tried to make a statement. he is trying to get his case transferred from adel to juvenile court. prosecutors are using his own worst to show he planned an attack and prove to reject -- toa judge in should be in any adult venue. the defense protested to

recorded phone conversations in which gladden talked about the point of shooting, which seriously wounded a special needs child. the defense claimed it was not fair and statements would be taken out of context. the judge allowed it and gladden shows detectives how people the shotgun, pointed it at students, and pull the trigger. he told officers he carried 21 bullets saying he figured if i was going to do it, might as well to it a lot. he wanted to get as many as he could and then kill himself. he claimed he had no agenda. he had not been bullied. he wanted to make a statement. he used an expletive saying the world was a mess oed up place. prosecutors also played phone conversations and visits involving gladden. the conversations were monitored by detectives.

in one recording appears to be gladden saying "i made myself an individual. i like that." in reference to me reports, "i was not bullied at all. it is making me mad." and other reference "i picked on more kids than kids picked on me and." portions of the recordings concerning remorse are relevant. the defense asked the judge to listen to the full police interview, which we understand is about 12 hours long. gladden apparently show some remorse. the judge will make his ruling on whether to transfer this case on february 8. barry simms, wbal tv 11 years. >> house republicans and democrats are taking aim at the gun control proposal. david collins has followed the debate and joins us from annapolis with the latest. >> no one minced words today.

eliminate firearms. >> an assault weapon is used in war. none of these firearms have the ability or would be taken into war. >> it is a stretch of the craziest person's imagination. >> advocates do not believe the governor is going far enough beefing of school security. nor do they consider an investment in math that magic mental-health enough of a commitment. >> there is nothing in this bill that is going to keep a tragedy like virginia tech from happening. there is nothing that would have kept newtown from happening. this is to discuss violence in our community. violence on tv, radio, video games, in our community. that discussion has been absent from this issue. >> republicans have drafted bills to counter what the governor has in mind and they will make them public tomorrow.

also today, republicans and democrats have found something they do agree on, the need for speed. legislation raising the speed limit to 7 miles an hour has bipartisan support. although geared to the 55 mile an hour limit on the icc, it will allow raising the limit on other highways. aaa admit it -- mid-atlantic has not taken a position. the police oppose raising the limit from 55-65. when the issue came up in the 1990's. >> breaking news just in, we have confirmed the sentencing date for john leopold. the judge scheduled sentencing for march 14. he was found guilty on two counts of misconduct in office on tuesday.

>> now your 11 insta-weather plus forecast with tom tasselmyer. >> we are keeping a close tabs on weather conditions for the rally and in new orleans. look how chilly it got this morning. the the temperature into the upper-30's. it did not warm up all that much. they got a bit of a breeze and temperatures have been in the upper-50's. if you're going there on the weekend, plan on some cool conditions. you'll need a jacket or a sweater at night. we had some downpours last night. temperatures were mild and the rain was coming down. 6 inches of rain in montgomery county. that is causing the flooding problem some. three-quarters of an inch of that came down at the airport since midnight. that is giving us a surplus.

we are now above normal for the month. the high was 63. there are some flood warnings for some of the areas. if you're driving, be on the lookout for flooded roadways. temperatures and wind have been the factor right now. 35 miles an hour at the airport. the new low for the day, feels like it is in the 20's. the wind diminishes tonight. after midnight tonight, if this comes near st. louis is moving rapidly to the east, it will cut across the mid-atlantic tomorrow morning. there will be some flurries in the morning and more wind and cold temperatures once it passes. the main threat, from 4:00 in the morning west of town until 8:00 as it moves across onto the eastern shore. and it could produce up to an inch of snow in our area.
