feeling the super bowl fever in the air as more and more people are arriving. officials expect 200,000 people to make their way to new orleans this weekend. a lot of miles to feed, a lot of drinks to be served. we took a closer look at the super bowl by the numbers. they were staggering. it takes a lot to accommodate your guests, but what happens when you have close to 200,000 at the same time? that is what they are expecting in new orleans this weekend for the super bowl. it takes approximately 36,000 man hours and over 25 days and 150 people to put up all the superable decorations around the city. it will take 300 people a week to take them down. this beautiful super bowl xlvii display required nine semi trucks to get it here and weighs almost 220,000 pounds.

2,000 tons of sugar. then there is the concessions at the stadium, which are completely different story. they are expecting to sell 15,000 units of machos, 20,000 hot dogs, 30,000 sodas, 30,000 bottled waters, and 50,000 bottled beers, and 40,000 draft beers. i will make sure to have some of those nachos. there is no place tuesday. there are more than 200 hotels in your lens. an additional 300 in the outlying areas. all of those rooms are sold out. >> [no audio] 2 much math involved in that story.

>> the numbers have grown exponentially since the start of the super bowl. the cheapest ticket was $6 back and the first super bowl. the cheapest ticket sunday $850. back in baltimore downtown with the preparations there. >> we know it will be really crazy in new orleans. we are expecting a really big party in baltimore as well. the police department, fire department, and business owners are getting ready. they wanted to be a fun night of celebrating, but also a safe one. >> you only have to look at the crowd that packed the streets after the ravens won the afc championship game for proof that baltimore fans know how to celebrate in huge numbers. baltimore police they have the detailed crowd control plan in

>> the sudden transfer of power in anne arundel county is under way. john léopold resigned today after his guilty verdict on his -- on misconduct charges this week. we have been following developments from annapolis. >> next week, the county council will begin reviewing resumes of candidates who want to replace john léopold. he left office today halfway

through his second term. in less than a month, anne arundel county will have a new leader. john léopold resigned as county executive friday. council members solid as the right thing to do. >> i am delighted we are at the end of a rather troubling set of circumstances. departure permit comes a few days after a judge found him guilty of misconduct in office because he used on duty police officers to do campaign work and used county employees for personal business. the judge called his actions that rages. the resignation letter, he said "i acknowledge the serious errors in judgment i made in do not want these errors to further distract the county from its ability to move forward in a positive way." we want to see if he would elaborate on that, but no one answered the door. >> how difficult it is to lose

as super bowl weekend finally arrives in new orleans. earlier today, nfl commissioner addressing the state of the game in his annual press conference. addressing issues that are anything but fun. hgh testing, elite still does not test for -- the league does not test for hgh. the commissioner is still sounding somewhat vague on the timeline to begin testing. >> we did agreed to hgh testing. we agreed to a neutral arbitration for drug cases. we will do that as soon as we reach agreement on hgh. which i expect to be very soon. we have moved down that path. >> i think we all understand the

emotional challenges facing john and jim harbaugh. for the last two days, the ravens have shared the saints practice field in would san francisco. that is not something you will see teams do. the opposing coaches always hold a private press conference. they usually do it separate, but today, the brothers and do it together. there is general in -- there is genuine respect and love. both men know the outcome of sunday's game in packs a whole lot more families than just their own. clucks every coach, every player, when you win, it is jubilation. when you lose, it is bitter disappointment.
