has undergone two surgeries' and is listed in critical condition. mayor stephanie rawlings-blake expressed outrage over which she calls no acceptable reason to be using live rounds during a police training exercise. a trainee was shot in the head. he was shot inadvertently by veteran police instructor in owings mills. part of the trading was for recruits to learn how to enter a building using shields. at some point the officer grabbed his weapon and shot the trainee in the forehead. >> i made a commitment to the trainee's family that we would get to the bottom of this. we're working with the state police in the investigation. it should not have happened. >> six members of the baltimore

city training academy have been suspended pending the outcome of this investigation. police are conducting a criminal investigation into this case. tuesday was the first time baltimore police have ever use that facility for training. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. mental health is back into the spotlight. police say dayvon green shot and killed himself after shooting stephen rane. he saw green plot a gun and ran from the scene. rane died longmont after being shot. green had been suffering from mental illness -- rane died

olympian oscar pistorius was involved in a deadly shooting at his home. police say a woman died inside the home from several gunshot wounds. police arrested oscar pistorius, who is expected in court later today. there are reports that his girlfriend was killed in the instance. california officials announced their search for christopher dorner is now officially over. they believed the body found in a burned out cabin police to dorner but police are waiting for positive identification. >> a disabled cruise ship is on his way back to port today. the ship was left powerless on sunday after an engine room fire.

the storm is passing by and moving offshore. we will have a cold day to day with temperatures in the 40's. this morning the temperatures have dipped below freezing. we have some ice in some of the neighborhoods, especially sidestreets. 30 in jarrettsville. there could be some slipping and sliding going on. you may have to scrape some frost off of your windshield. this will come in on friday night. it could give us a couple inches of snow. highs will struggle to get above freezing on saturday and sunday. today looks pretty good. partly to mostly sunny skies.
