e. now the mother and other residents have growing concerns about their safety and security. >> we saw the police cars and flashing lights oliver. it was unusual because it is a very quiet neighborhood. >> they are investigating a home invasion and robbery. and happened around 9:00 friday night. >> when i saw the helicopter lights focus and nearby, i knew something was wrong. >> the woman said she was going to her apartment when she heard footsteps behind her. she tried to get in her home and a man with a gun came from behind demanding money and pushed his way inside. he took the woman's purse and also stole items from a second victim in the apartment. >> i really scared about that.

change in the department. it is believed the instructor grabbed the wrong done when he hit them in the forehead. the investigation continues into how not happened and i have appointed a new training leader to make sure it does not happen again. he will be meeting with recruits and instructors tomorrow. the training site remains close that rosewood. at last check, the trainee was still listed in critical condition. >> they are launching an investigation into criminal conduct of the johns hopkins doctor. dr. levy, a gynecologist, is facing allegations. they will confirm what the allegations are or whether they involve any patients. we will continue to monitor this for any involvement. there joining forces with the

university of maryland eastern shore for the investigation into three men charged with stabbing a 21-year-old. >> it was homecoming weekend and he was driving on campus with his brother and another friend when there was an altercation. st. clare was stabbed and he later died. his girlfriend, shown in this picture, told me in a phone interview that she is still in shock. + >> it was less than 10-15 minutes after she had -- he had left me. >> he was a passenger in the car driving from campus around 9:00 at night saturday when three or four people were walking in the

streets. a fight was broken out and he was stabbed in the upper body. the stabbing was the result of an argument or an ongoing dispute. no arrests have been made. he attended high point and laurel high school in prince george's county and he was a popular d.j. on campus was several videos on youtube. >> university officials say they're working closely with state and must get to track down who is responsible. anyone with information as urged call 410-260-3700 and there is now reward leading to an arrest and conviction. >> a baltimore man is now facing life in prison involving a murder.

firefighters responding to the unit block a basket -- back in april found the charred remains of a woman in the basement. they found the man guilty of murder, theft, and arson. they burn the body and stole his car. sentencing will be sentenced in april. the red cross is providing shelter to two families displaced by a fast-moving fire over the weekend. this is all that's left over on indian camp road. firefighters were called to the scene around 4:00 a.m. saturday morning and nine people were inside. the blaze reached two alarms before they were able to get anything under control. howard county fire marshal's are now investigating. >> some good news in a tough flu season. the number of people getting

sick is beginning to decline. george lettis tells us why. >> the centers for disease control reports the flu has finally begun to loosen its grip on the nation after one of the worst seasons in years. maryland is one of 16 states experiencing a minimal flu activity. the greater of a baltimore medical physician assistant says she saw eight to 10 flu patients per weekend and now it is down to one. >> a lot of people were going to work down trying to push through the english when they should have been staying home, coughing without covering their mouth, greeting people. we think we developed a more heightened cognizance of what the flu looks like. >> usually, this time of year the flu is already headed out for the season. >> the cdc report 11 states and

>> in hagerstown man is accused of stabbing a family member after a standoff with police. please recall to the scene and neighbors say they saw a female running from the home with a knife stuck in her chest. they brought in the swat teams around the home as they begin to negotiate with the man inside. the man emerged around 6:30 and was arrested without force. the victim as a younger family member who has been treated for life-threatening injuries. collects a new study shows women undergoing in vitro fertilization do not face an increased risk for breast or ovarian cancer. they study the medical records of more than 60,000 women who

nearly one week after a police trainee was shot during a training exercise in owings mills, they have named a new department of the education and training section. major joseph smith was appointed today and he will be officially introduced to recruit training instructors tomorrow when limited operations are expected to resume. he replaces maj russell put on administrative suspension while investigation is ongoing. crime solvers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in the murder of a university of maryland eastern shore student. edmond st. clair, his brother, and another man came across three people walking out in the streets. they began fighting and he was stabbed.
