>> good afternoon, everyone. i'm sarah caldwell. as we talk about the boston marathon bombings, there is no doubt the bunning festival will be the most tighten security in the next few months. baltimore officials say they are already planning to increase security measures. >> there's a lot of coming and going as we are setting up the event. our finish line area will be the focal -- focal point of what we try to control and what we need to pay attention to. >> tighten security is already in place for maryland. the stadium authority is partnering with homeland security to make camden yards as safe as possible during tonight's orioles game. we have the latest on the plan in place. >> people will see increased security at camden yards

tonight. and everyone my notice extra security on public transportation and around town today. >> the orioles started a nine- game run tonight at camden yards. the game will be baltimore's biggest public gathering to follow the boston marathon. some security measures will be obvious, but some will also be going on behind the scenes. 11 news has also learned that 11 local police departments and state police are cooperating to evaluate other special events taking place and adjust accordingly. there have been no specific threat to the area, but the police commissioner elevated the security awareness level in the city, which means you'll notice more men in uniform, especially on buses, light rail, and train stations. >> you will see our officers in full gear. they will be ins what you're with automatic weapons. -- in swat year with automatic weapons. there will be checked the suspicious activities, checks of trash cans. you also see our dogs.

>> sad news as we come back to another update. anne arundel police say 15-year- old boy involved in a hit and run over the weekend has died. taut -- schuyler marion was walking with a 13-year-old girl along a mountain road they were both hit by an suv. police say the vehicle is likely damaged on the front passenger's side the 13-year-old was also injured, but was released from hospital. and with information is asked to call in anne arundel county police. baltimore police continued to search for more possible victims in a disturbing case of child pornography. david fisher was arrested last week following a police sting. he agreed to meet a 14-year-old for sex.

police searched his house and uncovered child pornography on his computer and on videotapes. the victims ranged in age from 2 to 12. including some of his own family members. bail has been set at $1 million. trial resumes today for robert gerrie jr., a howard county wife -- the howard county man accused of killing his wife in 1991. police found her remains buried under concrete in his backyard. prosecution does not have enough solid evidence to get a murder conviction. tired of paying for expensive medical tests? why doctors will prescribe cheaper treatment if they know how much you have been paying. >> we have been seeing a lot of clouds across the area, and now a cool front is marching this

students and two teachers. 24 others were also hurt before the two took their own lives. hui attackedg- people on the virginia tech campus. >> turning to our medical alert, today doctors will order fewer and less expense of lab tests if they know the cost before hand. that is according to a new study by johns hopkins. when the prices were share, the overall use of the expensive tests dropped by over 9% and hospital saved over $400,000 compared to when doctors were not aware of the costs. researchers a cost sharing not be feasible for some of the more

withw your forecast meteorologist a the marie. beautiful and sunday in the downtown harbor this morning and then the clouds rolled in. we have an easterly flow earlier on and that brought in at just enough moisture to drop some of those blow showers. for now, a wind shift back out of the south. that allows us to dry out and warm up. the wind is a little breezy at this point. anywhere from 10 to 15 miles per hour out of the south. just watch out for that through the afternoon. what we are seeing is the next storm system approaching the area. this next storm system is going to bring a slight chance for a shower and thunderstorm to baltimore. right now, already producing a couple of showers in pennsylvania and even crossing into york county. to safely push up to our north. we will see minimal impact to

our temperatures. the next batch of cold air is still off to the west. snow is starting to develop in the rockies. and including down toward denver, colorado. we will see a noticeable drop in the temperatures. before that, we will just see things warm up. shading.hat blew out that is the cold air in place. 40's in kansas, and 20's in parts of the dakotas. there were barely starting to flex screen and then they get this cold once again. the mild air -- to feel like spring and and get this cold once again. the mild air is off to the south. now.is where we are right now that the skies are starting to break apart and the air is drying out, warming to the mid- 19th -- into the mid '60s. we do expect temperatures to at

60 degrees by the afternoon. breezy winds through the afternoon. at 9:00 p.m. until about midnight, there could be a shower or thunderstorm. nothing major whatsoever. it should be pretty spotty. tonight will drop back into the 50's for the overnight lows. i want you to notice how the cold front does start to push into the western part of the state. it basically falls apart. that is why ramsing minimal chances for precipitation here. minimalo tomorrow, chance of showers as this system passes by to the north. what we're looking for is friday once the final batch of cold air moves our way. until then, temperatures warm up. 72 tomorrow, 76 on thursday, and in the 70's on friday.

continuing their search in and around the blast site looking for any clues that may help lead them to suspects or motive in the attacks. more than 10 square blocks are still locked down in the heart of the city this afternoon as investigators continue to sit through -- sifted through debris looking for answers. >> we are still searching and processing the most complex crime scene that we've dealt with in the history of our department. >> for now, investigators will not discuss specifics about the explosive devices that triggered two blasts, killing three, including 8-year-old martin richard, who died just after seeing his dad crossed the finish line at the marathon. >> this was a heinous and cowardly act, and given what we now know about what took place, the fbi is investigating it as an act of terrorism. searchedpartment was overnight where investigators
