fire on a suspect. jennifer franciotti is live in towson which the details. >> good morning. the suspect has been identified as arnett myers. police say he was shot in a parking lot in white marsh. this happened on wednesday evening. police were called to a hotel on pulaski highway wednesday night. a woman reported that a man tried to run her over with a scooter. officers went to the man's apartment down the block. court records show the man was wanted for not appearing for a child support hearing. one of the officers tried to arrest him. there was a struggle. >> the suspect was attempting to reach for the officer's weapon. the second officer, fearing for his safety and the safety of the other officer on the scene, fired his service weapon. >> police say that suspect was fatally shot. on officer has been placed routine administrative leave.

jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> the harford county sheriff's office is looking for a man they say shot someone in edgewood. the man shot a person multiple times. he was taken to bayview medical center. be briefeds will about gang and sexual activity that is apparently running rampant inside baltimore city jails. prosecutors say the guards smuggled drugs and cell phones inside the jails. new information about cell phone blocking technology that will be installed. the technology would put an electronic net to block calls.

declined comment. >> a solomon has been approved to the family of a girl who said she was bullied at school. they got into a fight back in 2008. the victim had injuries so severe she had to undergo three surgeries. the size of the salomon was determined by a couple of factors in. the settlementof was determined by a couple of factors. >> surgeries and broken bones. >> the school system is not legally liable for bullying incidents that happen outside the school. >> some new information into last week's train derailment.

tropical storm and jura got stronger overnight with wins 60 miles per hour. you can see the thunderstorms wrapping around the center. it will start to move quickly to the northeast. florida it up across and through the carolinas and entering virginia by late afternoon tomorrow. it goes across the mouth of the chesapeake bay towards ocean city. let's break it down. the time frame would be friday afternoon into friday night. some heavy rain is possible. a slight chance for some tornadoes. rain inget some heavy baltimore.

tropical storm and europe got stronger overnight. it is about 200 miles to the southwest of tampa. i think it will get stronger today. it might make hurricane strength later today. the storm is going to pick up speed and move quickly. this is the latest track from the hurricane center. all the way up to the mouth of the chesapeake bay by friday afternoon and friday evening. off the coast of ocean city. what does that mean for the delmarva beaches? the time frame would be late friday and into friday night. there will be some heavy rain on the eastern shore. even a slight chance for a few tornadoes depending on the exact
